Grace is a sweet woman, newly wed to a computer programmer. Her husband himself isn't such a bad man, but unfortunately ended up with a great debt on himself after being conned by the local mafia.
After being saddled with this debt for so long as a result of panicking over how to quell it, her husband is kidnapped, taken hostage by the mafia. With her husband practically put under ransom, the criminals tell Grace that she owed the group money now, but even she doesn't know what to do.
One of the underlings, even in a joking manner, tell her to enter into the Battle Maidens Invitational Tournament, where she could potentially win enough money to cover the husband's debt, which results in her entering...even if she has her own qualms regarding the competitive brawling nature of the tournament.
Though not obvious due to her thicker frame, Grace still had a strong, natural body due to helping her family and their moving business. She was, however, shy back in school and never joined any sports even if she had the physique to do so.
This was due to how she was bullied during school, not for her build but for her large breasts, antagonized by jealous girls. She didn't wish to hurt others, seeing how she had been hurt in return. Thankfully she had her husband, who was the boyfriend at the time, to help her conquer her insecurities.
Grace owed him so much for that, and enters despite her wishes not to harm others. When put into a corner and made angry or ashamed, she's capable of gaining a boost in strength, which will come in handy during the Invitational.
