Update

Hello, everyone, I wanted to give a bit of an update since I finally got a little more information, and I have a much better idea of what the overall game plan is going to be going forward. But first, let me thank you all for your well wishes and patience. I really do appreciate it.

While I learned what exactly was wrong with me, I also learned that next month, I'm going to need minor surgery. It's largely my fault, as I just straight-up ignored my symptoms for like four months until I hit a critical point. So, with the benefit of hindsight, let me make a recommendation -- if you ever think 'Hey, maybe I should go to the hospital?' Just go to the hospital. It'll be inconvenient, it'll be expensive (If you're an American), and it'll suck. But it'll be more inconvenient, expensive, and suck a whole lot more if you put it off too long.

Beyond that, things have been going alright for me. I have been helping train my replacement at work. Largely because I would like to still use the job as a reference in the future if I ever feel the need, but when my job wasn't trying to murder me via stress, I did like my job and the people that work there. Even if sometimes it felt like they got brain surgery to remove their critical thinking skills. That will be wrapping up this week and I will be a free man once more.

I'm looking to start updating again on Monday of next week, but I will confess that I haven't been able to build up my backlog as much as I would like for my various stories. And, in full interest of transparency, that is completely because I have been bitten by the Gone Native: Rewrite bug. When I do have time to write, I've found it difficult to write any story that wasn't that one.

While very fun, it has been something of a problem because I had hoped to pad out my backlog for my other stories a bit. In particular, in regard to Best of Intentions and A Golden Path, as neither of them has a backlog to speak of, I intend to change how they share the Monday slot. So, what I may do is temporarily give the Monday slot to one story while I build up the other's backlog. Then, for my others, I'll see if I can get ahead with my newfound free time.

Again, I'm looking to come back to full-time updates next week. And, hopefully, in the very near future, I can bring back stories like Ghastly Adventures, which have fallen by the wayside.
