Some Sad News
Added 2024-10-19 14:56:43 +0000 UTCI'm sorry I missed The Good Life's update yesterday. Unfortunately, life has kicked me square in the pants, and I completely forgot that it was Friday. One of my dogs passed away a couple of days ago but I had expected that due to longstanding medical issues. She was 13, and her breed is expected to only live 10 so it's something that I saw coming. What I didn't see coming was for my other dog to pass away as well.
Some of you might remember him as a little over a year ago, he scared the shit out of me when he went blind over the course of three days due to a genetic disease. After a small adjustment period, he went right back to his usual self. At least until my other dog passed and over the course of days, he just wasted away until yesterday he passed as well.
I'm okay. Both of them were pretty old for their breeds, so I knew it was coming, and I prepared myself for it, but god damn dude, it still sucks. Especially when I wasn't expecting them to go one after another. I've had them both for around half my life at this point and it's sinking in that they're gone.
So, there may be a delay next week. I'm going to be completely honest and say that my head just isn't in the game so I doubt that I'm going to get much writing done. And my backlog has gotten pretty thin in some places because last month sucked in a different way. I'm going to take a couple of days just to screw my head on straight and get myself back to normal.
