I'm curious whether Otis and Eric fighting will become a trend. Although this fight doesn't lead to a break in the friendship, it does take place in episode 5, just like in the first season. It also involves them accusing each other of having glaring character flaws that they don't really respect in each other. It's less intense than season 1...Otis' response here seems more genuinely caring in its judgment of Eric, rather than defensive as it did last season, and Eric's response is reasonable despite how hurt he is here- perhaps because the hurt is much less extreme this time. Still, can't help but feel like they're re-treading ground in a bad way. Their friendship can be really good sometimes, but I do wonder if they would benefit from having other mutual friends who neither of them have dated.
