announcement!

For the last few weeks or so I've gotten a lot of texts from Patrons, emails, DMs, etc. asking me all sorts or questions or comments about this or that....here's an announcement I think everyone should hear.

Public service announcement: I'm not here to win an argument, I'm here to solve a problem. That problem is uneducated riders, outdated ideas and myths, misinformation, lack of rider skill, bad advice, nonexistent effort of riders to practice and take more training, too many crashes on public roads that are often avoidable, riders not wearing protective gear, etc.

I do this by making videos, writing books, having an app, doing 1 on 1 cornering sessions, group rides, meet ups, be available to meet up with riders and talk about ideas/techniques, setting up practice days, etc.

This is why I rarely reply to YouTube comments unless I ask a question I want to answer, my time is better spent doing other things, as well as it's just too many to keep up with. I do reply to emails/DMs on Instagram however. So if you have a question for me, that's the best way to get ahold of me. https://www.motojitsu.com/contact

This has been a 4 year experiment for me. There's no one way to do what I'm doing. It's all an experiment of trial and error. What works, what doesn't, reply to everyone, turn off comments, turn them back on, make funny videos, make this type of videos, try another style, etc.

I believe I've narrowed it down to what makes the most sense for my vision. Maybe next year or next month I'll adjust or adapt what I'm doing in order to reach more riders but what I will not do is change the way I say things because it may upset someone.

If you're looking for a cheerleader who will lie to you, tell you bullshit, or accept your stupidity, my channel probably isn't for you and that's ok. There's a lot of people making content on YouTube you can spend your time with.

What you may not know is the most frequent compliment I get is how I am a no bs, straight forward, blunt speaker who tells it how it is and won't pander to your excuses. I was in the Marines for 11 years, spend 2 years in combat and was a drill instructor for 4 years. I have little to no patience for cry babies or worry about how I'm saying what I'm saying because a small minority of you may find a way to get offended. Could there be a better way to communicate my goals? Of course, but most of the time it isn't as effective in my experience.

Sometimes you have to touch the stove to know it's hot and sometimes people have crash in order to realize you're not as good as you think you are and wearing full, quality gear is a good way to minimize or greatly reduce injuries.

Love what you do Greg. Keep doing it the way you find works best. It’s your mission, we’ve all chosen to follow it… so anyone trying to tell you how to do you is simply misunderstanding your mission.

Well said! For me, you practice and preach excellence in skills, safety and continuous improvement, and that's the type of rider I want to be!
