Toyota Sprinter Trueno 1600GT APEX (AE86) '83 - FR - 500PP - Sport Hard Tires - All Track - 1.56

5 STARS CAR SETUP *****

Wide car
Rims size 14" - Rim Width Wide - Offset Wide
Front A - Rear A - Wing B

A top-tier 500PP road car, this machine is truly impressive.

I prioritize stability and control here, which is why I’m using the Rear Part A diffuser. While it slightly increases PP, I compensate by skipping racing brakes and pads. The brakes are still good, just remember to brake a bit earlier than usual.

The engine is peaky, so you’ll need to shift at very high RPM, close to the electronic limiter.

Don’t be afraid of fast bends—this is where the car truly shines. Its grip and stability in high-speed corners are impressive.

You'll need to adjust the gearbox for each track — whether it's slow or fast — due to the engine’s power delivery.

This current gearbox setup is tuned for Nordschleife. To adapt it for other tracks, just adjust the final gear — that way, you'll maintain the same gear ratios while adjusting for slower or faster circuits.

Enjoy your drive. ><(((((((°>°°°°°°

Ok. I'll check it.

Please add a 600pp version to your to do list. Thanks. Original motor. Maybe also a 700pp with motor swap 🤔. But the AE86 is peak at 600pp!

Ahh ok, thanks for the heads up. I've got plenty of your tunes to apply to some of my other swaps so I'll hold fire for now. Good luck sorting it out and keep up the good work!

V8Hilux

I'm using it only as a base for now, but I’m currently working on a 700PP setup. It’s proving to be not an easy car to tune at this level. If I can’t achieve a satisfying result at 700PP, I might consider detuning it to 600PP instead. We'll see how it goes!

Does this setup work on the swapped engine version, or will there be a separate setup to follow?

V8Hilux

For reference, I adjusted my final drive to 5.150 for a short track like Tsukuba. It’s trial and error but now 5th gear just hits red line on the back straight.

I realized I swapped the engine and quickly bought another one. I didn’t love the swap, but I do love this tune. The grip on the final turn of Tsukuba is insane. It also takes me back to my childhood car, a 1986 Toyota Tercel. I remember riding in the back until we outgrew it. My dad loved that one.

Thank you! ❤️

Once the gearbox is set, avoid adjusting the individual gears. To shorten the gearbox, simply increase the final gear — the exact adjustment depends on the track you’re racing. The ideal setting is to have the last gear reach high RPM, right where the engine’s maximum power peaks, at the fastest point of the circuit.

do u have tutorial video how to adjust final gear for different track....tq

Dragons_Den

I loved this car in previous iterations. Good to have it back! Thanks @praiano63.
