Audi Sport Quattro S1 '87 - 4WD - 700 PP - Racing Medium Tires - All Track - 1.56

4 STARS CAR SETUP ****

No performance parts or rim options available for this car—rims are purely cosmetic.

A top-tier 700PP car for any track, though it falls just short of 5 stars due to its handling. It consistently laps in the low 2:13s at Spa. Just be mindful of late braking—make sure to set the correct wheel angle on entry. If not, you might lose the rear, though it’s not a major issue—you’ll just drift instead. That said, staying in line is slightly more efficient.

It also performs perfectly in this week's Trial Mountain event!

Enjoy your drive ><(((((°>°°°°°°

I managed to do sub-4 min laptimes at Le Mans 700pp with this tune, except I switched the turbo to Med RPM. Thanks, pretty good tune.

There is no settings available for this car . Only setting available is the ballast. It can improve grip . For 700PP using racing hard tires : Set ballast 61 kg position +50 Power Restrictor at 91

Can you do (or have you done) the DP-100?

Dave Braseth

Yes, you’re right—GrB cars have a unique behavior under braking. It’s very easy to induce oversteer with them. You need to modulate your inputs carefully—both brake and steering. They don’t respond well to late braking but are perfect for trail braking.

Thanks for the test! I posted a separate reply in case patreon reply system messes up.

(Patreon reply is so messed up that if I reply to your reply it shows as replying myself so I am creating a new reply here, hopefully you can see it.) Thanks for the test, I also tested and your tune didn't have the issue. It is the ytb tune only. I should have checked it before posting. I had that impression that this car has brake issue because I remember observing the car spinning out during braking while doing slight turns (the 700pp Alsace World Rally Challenge race has a lot of that), which I don't know if this is expected or not. Either this belongs to over-driving the car and should always brake in straight line or this car does have this kind of brake-related instabilities? As a comparison, the Peugeot 205 is very stable in that regard, and I used that to win the race.

SPAS12

I did a test and no issue at all. The car is braking perfectly straight. Perhaps a problem with your control...??

Laurent Bouis

I'll check it.

Did V1.54 hugely re-model this car's physics? No matter this tune or another V1.52 tune I found on ytb both have a problem for me: it just can't brake properly. Try special stage X and go straight to high speed, then keep the wheel/controller straight, brake 100%, BOOM, this car will automatically turn right and hit the wall. I have ABS on default and TC1. Or is it my skill issue?

SPAS12

Io ho provato questa versione, 30 secondi al secondo arrivato, la prima prova.

With this tune, RM tyres and max power, I initially struggled. The RM tyres lost me time through the tight turns in the middle of the track. I still won fairly well though. I was considering running it again, with this tune, but using RS tyres and dropping the power to suit. That would help with the fuel economy too, running at a higher power map maybe. I haven't had a chance to try that method yet.

I still had a tough time with this car 6th. Managed 3rd barely with Ford Focus on Normal difficulty. Only got 3rd because P3 ran out of fuel right before finish line haha

JCHammer

Any chance you can make a tune for Eiger for this car?

JCHammer

Cheapest Tune so far, Reward Car + ~50k for Tuning :) Normally it's between 250k and 350K for the tuning alone. I wonder if the tail still breaks out on braking, I remember that the default tune was demanding while braking.

Falco

Haha excellent, I was using an old version of this tune as a base for this week's Group B race at Eiger. Will try this one today.
