Peugeot 205 GTI '88 - FF - 500PP - Sport Hard Tires - All Track - 1.56

5 STARS CAR SETUP *****
Wide car
Rims "15 - Rims width Wide - Offset Wide
Front A - Side B - Rear A - Wing A

This car is an absolute blast to drive! There’s a bit of wheel spin in 1st gear, but nothing unmanageable—you can even use traction control at 1 if you prefer. It perfectly captures the feel of classic FF French cars in real life.

The handling is super reactive under braking, with a lively rear end and great rotation. If you want to see how an FF car can be pushed to the limit, check out Jean Ragnotti, one of the best rally drivers of the '80s and a true FF car specialist—yes, FF cars can drift!

This setup is tuned for Nordschleife and other fast tracks, with the rear end slightly tightened for better high-speed stability, but it still feels very responsive. For shorter tracks like Tsukuba or Brands Hatch, you can lower the rear downforce to the minimum or even go wingless for a more playful feel. You'll notice even more feedback under braking, especially when combined with precise steering inputs—it's an amazingly rewarding sensation.

Performance-wise, it's excellent, keeping up with the very best 500PP cars in the game. Just remember to shift at very high RPM, right before the limiter, to stay in the power band!

Enjoy your drive. ><((((((((°>°°°°°°

Very good tuning. For more technical tracks i put on sport meds and lower engine power a little bit, still very good.

Mario Fischer

Oops! I meant this car at Nordwand. 🤣

Ian Clark

Same 🤦‍♂️

David

I also apologize, I didn't realize how many FF cars you've now tuned. Even the Honda Civics that I've always wanted a tune for now have one! As usual you've done a fantastic job!

Stevan Luna

That was it, I had the racing gearbox. I made a few tweaks so I could keep the racing gearbox and not go to manual. Was still a fantastic drive and great car for its class.

DreadLord

Normal brakes too.

Laurent Bouis

There’s definitely a power limit for FF cars—you can push it up to the point where wheel spin doesn’t disrupt the driving line too much. Beyond that, it becomes difficult to manage. That said, just like in other categories, there are good and bad FF cars depending on their balance, grip, and handling characteristics. It’s all about finding the right setup!

Laurent Bouis

This is an awsome and well ballanced car. And you say you can't tune FF drive cars. Whti Spec II physics, maybe its time to look at the FF drive cars again and add your expertiese to them.

Stevan Luna

Manual not racing gearbox?

Michael Roper

Weird…I am doing the exact setup from your screenshots but am getting 508.83PP. Double checked everything. Not sure what I did wrong?

DreadLord

Excellent car up to 550pp. Laurent , you are a real specialist of french cars but it is natural 😉

THANKS IT WORKS FINE MB

ZRT_DUMOULIN RICK DUMOULIN

The rally version is perfect for racing tires. Not this one in my opinion.

Laurent Bouis

Works well maxed out, too. It could use your magic on it.

Mr.M

Excellent. Thanks.

Mr.M

Thanks so much for the quick tune. As soon as I drove it stock, I was smiling. I will buy a second car later and tune it.

Ian Clark

Sure i would a different setup for monotype race , with a different range of power or tires. It's one of the best FF car in the game in my opinion.

Laurent Bouis

You're absolutely right—most of my setups are optimized for online lobby racing, where PP remains the best way to balance different cars in competitive races. I haven’t tested any racing tire options yet, but I’ll definitely check them out. Regarding turbo choices, the high-RPM turbo proved to be the most performance-oriented, but the medium-RPM turbo offers a wider, more manageable power curve for smoother acceleration. For high-speed corners like Schwedenkreuz at Nordschleife, the wing option was the best choice to stabilize the rear end. Without it, the car felt too unstable, and while it was possible to correct this by tightening the differential or reducing rake, these adjustments negatively affected the car’s behavior in other types of corner entries. So, the wing setup ended up being the best compromise for overall balance and consistency.

Laurent Bouis

So you say a 500 pp tune on sports hard tires is good if I WIDE BODY and MAX power??? with RS tires??

ZRT_DUMOULIN RICK DUMOULIN

The stock car is wonderful, easy to drive, torquey, willing engine, really well spaced transmission, always eager and pushing but ultimately not performant for racing. Your tune seems peaky in comparison which could be a shame but as always, I know you delivered and it's probably an excellent compromise for performance vs PPs. The handling takes a getting used to. A car go grow into. Not the most approachable but I felt the rhythm kick in at some point and I was carrying a really good pace. The tuned car needs to be wrung out and there seems to be a moment of lag in the 1 to 2nd shift. Ah well. Sometimes, I tune my cars for enjoyment only without regard for PPs. An NSX with a stock exhaust and intake but lots of performance mods for example, optimizing the engine sound for my preference. Perhaps you could, Praiano, consider a category of tune without regard for performance with what may be a car's "sweet spot". I would find this category useful for the 205 and perhaps collector cars that are mostly there to be enjoyed. The "without wings" versions of cars could easily fall into that category.

HD Farha

The first car I ever took, as stock, for a spin. One of the cars I wanted as a kid. Thanks for the tune
