Nissan R92CP '92 - MR - 800PP - Racing Hard Tires - Sardegna - 1.55

5 STARS CAR SETUP *****

The option using Race medium like the Mazda 787B didn't work better so i stick with Hard compound, i have a better wear too.
This car also lap 1:28 to 1:29. It's also a perfect car for other track like SPA 1h or Nordschleife.

Enjoy your driive. ><(((((((°>°°°°°°

Yes, it’s a different approach. On the Porsche, rear ballast brings more front grip and agility, while the Nissan carries more power and speed.

Compared to the Porsche 962 build this works worse for me. The Porsche is much more agile and distributes the power more evenly. The Nissan understeers like crazy. Feels heavy and requires you to drop to 1st for rotation unlike the Porsche. Still more than capable to win Sardegna on Hard of course. It's very fuel efficient so it can do no-stop strategy. Could't get better race pace than 1:31 tho. Very fun car and thanks for the build!

Hello. The Sardegna setup already works very well at Spa . I’ve tested it several times while grinding credits in the 1-hour event. It was so good that I didn’t feel the need to build a specific setup for it. I’m going to compare it accurately against my best 800PP Mazda 787B ghost, and then I’ll confirm it to you.

Laurent Bouis

With this back in the dealership would love to see a Spa 1 hour build. This is one of those where intermediates puts it over the 800pp limit.

1.55 to 1.59 – same physics. The car is still okay, but perhaps you could tailor the gearbox for specific tracks.

Laurent Bouis

Is there anything different in 1.59? If so, is there a plan to another setup or you thing this is still the better setup, Praiano?

Sardegna setups are usually built specifically for that track, and there are two key points to keep in mind: Track Layout Sardegna mainly features slow corners and long straights. Because of this, there's little benefit in running high front downforce. It's better to sacrifice some front aero to save PP and gain more straight-line speed. Track Elevation It's a relatively flat circuit, with no major compressions like Eau Rouge at Spa or Foxhole at the Nordschleife. This allows low-slung cars with ground effect setups—like race cars or road cars using a rear diffuser—to run softer springs, improving top speed without the risk of bottoming out. Because of this—and just like Tokyo, though for different reasons—Sardegna setups aren’t really suitable for other circuits. They're built for specific track conditions and don’t translate well elsewhere. On the other hand, all-track setups have been tested on nearly every circuit to ensure versatility. As for Nordschleife builds, they’re a bit different. While the top speed and gearbox settings are very specific to that track, the chassis setup is usually adaptable and can work well on other circuits too.

Laurent Bouis

Have a clarifying question as I start to try out all these new cars. When you say this is a Sardegna build, will it also be good in every track or this should strictly be used at Sardegna. I know usually you tell us if it’s all track

Intermediate tire "feature" on this one like the 787. Higher PP with inters.

--Front Negative Camber= 4.0 This change gives more corner grip! Even though there's 0 front downforce, extra steering negative camber gives more tire surface contact making it feel like you have lots of front downforce!! This change gives faster corner speed with Traction Control 1 turned on for faster exit speed will be giving you 1 sec faster laps!

--Front Negative Camber= 4.0 More negative steering camber makes for more tire surface contact in corners! This is so far the best way I've found to eliminate understeering from the lack of front downforce because of de-tuning down to 800pp. High hp is still needed to maintain a fast lap time but at the sacrifice of very little downforce. For the medium tires i have to lower HP down and even though it handles extremely well like the 787b tune, it's to slow outa corners and low top speed. So therefore i get slower overall lap times compared to hard tires with high HP. i look forward to seeing what tuning you come up with. 🍻

The medium tires trick doesn’t seem to work well with the Nissan. Despite testing it extensively, the pace on Sardegna remains the same, and the tire wear is noticeably higher. I spent two hours tomorrow morning working on this car, testing various options to find the optimal setup. Stay tuned for updates as I continue to refine its performance!

The goat for my grinds on WTC 800, what a car

i wonder if the 787b setup with medium tires trick being almost 2secs quicker will work on the rest of the group C cars? Cause your correct on mediums being a little slower on this Nissan R92CP.
