1.55 Physics Simulation Model - Important changes - Brand new garage will be done.

1. Physics Simulation Model
 - The behavioral model for suspension systems has been adjusted.
・Reduced sudden changes in behavior when driving over bumps or uneven surfaces.

This is a great improvement. When going through strong compressions, like Fox Hole at Nordschleife, the car remains stable—you won’t experience for some cars a sudden weight balance shifts or losing the driving line.

 - The tire physics simulation model has been adjusted.
・Adjustments have been made on load dependency while cornering.
・Grip loss on racing lines on wet surfaces has been reduced.
・The impact of dirty tires from off-track excursions has been reduced, with faster recovery of grip when returning to the track.

This is exactly what I had been asking PD for a long time—less sudden loss of grip when exceeding the optimal traction, whether laterally or longitudinally under acceleration, braking, or cornering.

Previously, grip would suddenly drop from 100% to 50%, but now it feels more like 100% to 75%. This results in a more progressive loss of grip, making the car easier to control, providing better feedback, and enhancing driving pleasure.

Additionally, off-track surfaces—such as grass or the green zones beyond the curbs—now offer more grip.

 - Updates have been made to the handling of some cars.
・Adjustments have been made to default aerodynamic settings for Gr.1 cars and some race cars.
・Adjustments have been made to the default suspension and differential settings for some road cars.

 - Performance Points (PP) for some cars have been updated.

 - The effects of the following driving assists have been updated:
・The Traction Control (TCS) assist intervention has been optimized.
・Corner braking control for ABS (anti-lock brakes) has been optimized.

It looks like they’ve fixed some broken cars… let’s see.

The Garage RCR Civic seems more drivable now—the updated grip loss physics have significantly reduced front wheel spin, making it much more manageable.

Most
pre-1.54 PP setups need some adjustments.

Traction control has been optimized, and the tire physics likely play a big role in this new behavior, along with the updated TC system.

There’s now a better feel when entering corners under braking and improved feedback during trail braking.

With the change to the pinned article we seem to have lost access to the search page? Could you add a link somewhere that we can easily find again? I use it frequently

Shockthealien

I shouldn't be surprised that the one person to successfully explain to me why the recent update matters, is the same guy that tuned... well, everything. Makes so much sense now why I didn't enjoy GT7 before this update, even though everything was technically more responsive.

Not an Expert

important announcement with a finding from 1.55 update! intermediate tires now give you WAY MORE pp than they should! Which makes it to where you have to de-tune your tune before the race in order to switch to inters mid race in rain!! Poly probably did this to force us to use Full Wet Tires instead of inters 😕. inters give you MORE pp than Race Hard/Medium tires. Only Race Softs have more pp than inters but most of us don't use Race Softs because of very fast tire wear!

I can't wait to see how you handle the IONIQ. It loves lift-off oversteer as a basic driving technique and it's so heavy it just barrels over kerbs like Pac-Man.

Aj Camacho

I'm happy they've finally fixed FFB on the open wheeler cars and Redbull fan cars

Mickey D

The 2004 Blobeye STi finally now has an engine swap option thanks to update 1.55 😁. it's a mere standard flat-6 Porche motor instead of one of the legendary fuel saving motors. But still it's a fun beast making 1,100hp maxed out. Can't wait till you get to enjoy it yourself Praiano! Look forward to both 700pp and 800pp tunes. 600pp is probably better with the stock ej207 motor.

Rally Ru '04 STi

Excellent thanks, didnt see that.

BAB

Yes , if you go to https://www.gt-setups.cc/ , you can find a game version on the left bar. All the 1.55 setups updated or news will appear at the top of the page first . I'll do all the cars in a couple of monthes or 3.

Laurent Bouis

Please tune the f3500-a, I'm not doing anything good with this car((

Сергей Кучава

Any chance of slipping the F3500 into your list Laurent? Wondering if it could compete with the F1500 on Spa..

David

Really looking forward to try the update and already thank you for your work Maestro. Is there a way to filter for 1.55 updated tunes? If no a update related tag would be excellent.

BAB

They fixed the DD wheel death wooble oscillation in Gr1 cars too Can finally drive the R92CP

JCHammer

I’ve updated the old setup. The 1.49 to 1.54 setups will gradually disappear over time.

Laurent Bouis

Not yet—I don’t think they’ve changed Gr4 or Gr3 cars, but we’ll see tomorrow. The physics remain the same, so only broken road cars that required extreme settings before 1.55 will need serious fixes. After a week of testing, we’ll know more.

Laurent Bouis

Hello Praiano, may I ask - how do you usually go about updating setups? Do you make new posts, or update the description texts and images of the old post?

Chris

Hi Praiano , Thank you for all your hard work and summary of the 1.55 changes. Have you tried the Gr 3 cars and what is your opinion on how the changes affect the cars ?

Samm24

Of the cars I tried after the upgrade, I liked the mazda 787 (800hp) and nissan r33 (700 hp). These cars can be made much faster, especially mazda

Сергей Кучава

In GT Auto, using wide body and offset wide increases stability and grip. Without them, cars may carry slightly more top speed, but they’ll have less grip and drivability. My main goal is to improve handling and overall performance, especially on technical tracks. The same applies to rear aerodynamic parts—they make the car faster around the track by enhancing stability and cornering performance. I’ve added a PP collection to make searching easier.

Laurent Bouis

Looks like they fixed Super Formula FFB too. I will need to try later. Hopefully they also fixed the GR1 death wobbles

JCHammer

Yeah, something indicating whether a fresh start is required or only settings changes. Like “ Update to settings only “ or “New engine/ different aero parts needed”

JCHammer

Sounds like great improvements.  Looking forward to the post 1.55 garage, Praiano!  Agree the suggestion of starting with the 5* cars. Your ratings are perfect, so its a great suggestion to start with those epic 5* cars.   A small additional suggestion that will really add value and help all your Patreons, espeically those like me who are starved of time.   If POSSIBLE, it would be super great if new tunes don't require a visit to GT AUTO, Ie. Use same Body, Wheels, Custom Parts. Much easier and quicker for us. Sometimes it won't be possible. I understand.  Maybe you could write at top of the new tune: NCGTA NCGTA  (No Change GT Auto) To tell us that we don't need to check in GT AUTO, and we can go straight to the settings sheet.

CustomX

This will be interesting to adjust the tunes for the cars that have had PP increased. For example the RCR Civic Tokyo 600pp tune is now 601.42 pp. Even when I adjust the ECU from 100 to minimum level 70, PP is only still 601.37, So that tune is now buggered!

Dave C

Awesome, thank you!

Luka

Thanks for the update! So will you update all 380 tunes you already did? 😀

Nick

I love doing this—it’s just a matter of time. I remember 1.49, and it’ll be the same now. The only difference is that the physics remain basically the same, so I just need to fix and adjust all the cars.

Laurent Bouis

Better in my opinion.

Laurent Bouis

Oh no... Not again, everything from beginning...

IMPORT TUNER

Will the old setups be as driveable as they were before?

Luka

The physics remain the same, but some important fixes have improved the game. Cars that required extreme settings to be drivable will likely be outdated and need major changes. However, about 80% of older setups are still drivable but could benefit from better tuning to match the latest adjustments.

Laurent Bouis

C'est un plaisir pour moi , recommencer sur du mieux me motive. Uniquement quelques nouveaux parametres physiques , la base de la physique reste la même.

Laurent Bouis

I’ve never been so happy to be a Patreon of Master P… looking forward to the updated tunes!

Imran Mohammed

I've been hoping for this! I'm glad you like the changes and can't wait to see the new setups you can create for an even nicer gt7 experience! (Updated Porsche 996 or 997 is what I'd like when you get the chance as I'm looking to buy one irl at the moment! (No not a gt3 irl I'm broke lmao)

Elijah Purnell

Porsche 911 GT3 RS (991) '16 at 700PP. I did it basing me on the older ghost , it was out pace with the older 1.50 but now it's perfect again. Great feel and same speed. I'm going to publish 1.55 now.

Laurent Bouis

Bon courage pour tout revoir, et merci d’avance 😘

Vincent FARCY

I was looking forward hearing your thoughts when I saw physics changes in the patch. Glad you think they seem positive. Are you going to start revising 5* cars first or looking at problematic ones first to see if the changes fixed them?

Shockthealien

This is really useful info thanks! I’ve noticed this morning that some of the 700/800pp tunes are up to about 20pp out either way but shouldn’t be too tricky to fix

Ben

Have fun, and good luck & big thank yous in advance, Maestro! Very excited to try some of the new tunes whenever they’re available! Cheers!

Moo Bass

These are all great enhancements to the overall experience of driving in GT7

Grown Folks

Great write up, much appreciated, thank you. What's your first tune going to be for this update?
