How to apply a Praiano tune

How to apply a Praiano tune. First of all , check update your app the latest update.
1. Check if you own the car. Check to ensure its the correct model and year. Some cars have similarly named models. Also be aware that there might be a "Road Car" variant of a race car.
2. If you don't already own it, buy the car. Select it as current vehicle.
3. Navigate to "GT Auto" and check whether your car has wide body and compare to Praiano instructions at top of text for the tune. If Praiano tune is normal body and you have already installed wide body, then you won't be able to match the tune exactly. You need to buy the car again, because a wide body modification cannot be reversed. The same applies to a swapped engine. If Praiano tune uses the stock engine and you have already installed a swap engine in the car, then you cannot reverse this. You need to buy the car again.
4. Navigate to Garage > Car Settings and check the current settings and parts installed on your car and compare it to the Praiano tune. Pay specific attention to the engine and body mods at the bottom right of screenshot 4 of the tune that say "installed". If your car already says "installed" for these engine parts (such as "polished ports") or body changes (weight reductions and/or rigidity) and they are not installed on the Praiano tune, then you'll need to purchase a new body and/or engine or buy the car again to get it back to stock. Those installed parts cannot be removed. Check in the "Extreme" tab of the "Tuning Shop" to see whether its more cost effective to buy a new car, or replace the engine/body.
5. If Praiano's setting requires a wide body, go to "GT Auto" and install wide body.
6. If Praiano's setting requires swap engine, go to "GT Auto" and install swap engine (or find it in "Tuning Parts" in the Garage, if you already own the engine from a wheel spin prize)
7. [Optional] Navigate to Customization > Content Library and find a livery that you like. Download it and apply it to the car.
8. In Customization Parts, match the Front, Side, Rear and Wing settings to the Praiano tune description.
9. Match the Rims to Praiano's tune description, paying attention to Rim Width and Offset which could be standard or wide.
[Note: the order of steps 7, 8 and 9 matters. Every time you enter the Customization parts menu or download a new livery, the rims will reset to standard so you need to be sure to re-do steps (8) and (9) after changing any customization parts, or new livery download.
10. Exit GT Auto and navigate to Garage > Car Settings and look at the tuning sheet. Look at the permanent body parts and engine tuning parts and compare to Praiano's to see what you need to buy from the "Tuning Parts" shop.
11. Go to "Tuning Parts" and buy all tyres, tuning parts and body weight reductions including rigidity that are shown in the Praiano tune.
Take special care to install the correct gearbox (usually Racing, but sometimes Manual)
12. Go back to Garage > Car Settings and open the settings sheet. Match all the numbers to Praiano's settings sheet.
13. Check that the PP matches Praiano's setting's PP. If it doesn't, check the HP to see if it matches. If they don't match, you've missed something or done something slightly wrong. Pay attention to detail. Check the permanent parts at bottom right of sheet 4. Sometimes the discrepancy will be because you need the a High Lift Camshaft/Bore Up/Stroke up S part that is found in the "Ultimate" tab in the Tuning Shop.
14. Gearbox: To do the gearbox, set top speed to the number shown on Praiano's sheet, then go into the "Manual adjustment" section and set the final gear number, and then the individual ratios from bottom to top. Check that the speeds and ratios match Praiano's. Sometimes it will seem like the ratios won't reach high enough numbers, but due to bugs in the game, they will open up. For example if you're setting 6th gear and it say the number should be 0.851, and the highest you can get is 0.600, then move on to doing 5th gear and then 4th gear and 3rd gear. Then reopen 6th gear and you'll see that you can move the slider further right and reach higher numbers than before. Don't ask why. Its a quirk of the game.
15. Do a final PP check. If all numbers match then you're done.
Sometimes GT7 updates change PP calculations and the numbers will not match if the tune was done on an earlier GT7 version (such as 1.52). If this is the case and you need the number to fit just below a certain point like 700PP, just use the ECU or power restrictor to raise or lower the PP by the small amount necessary.

Hi Praiano, could you do a tune of the Honda N-One for the 400pp K-Cup on Nordschleife? I tried to tune it and I won, but it still needs your magic touch on suspension, aero and transmission.
Thanks!

😂😂 You're right. I'm sure the setup can work on the original engine. I just don't know if it can reach 700PP. I'll buy the car again to check.

I have no doubt that this is a great tune but as a long-time BMW owner I just can't put a Suzuki motor in an E30. I wouldn't be able to slow at night.

All those GrB Rally cars have the same behaviors when same F-R weight balance. You can use the Subaru tune for the Toyota. Just add 74 kg ballast to reach the right PP

Ok , the vantage 15 is already in my list . The '18 also is ok for Nordschleife 600PP , just regular on Tokyo (would need some + power and top speed)
For the Sierra i only have the swap at 700PP , i'll check.

I only have a few cars with liveries designed by myself. If you'd like, I can share a link or a tag — usually "praino63."
Around 10% of my cars have my own custom liveries; the rest are amazing designs made by other players.

Maestro, I’m wondering, would it be a huge faff (extra work!) for you to include a link or details of liveries in your tunes? Possibly, yes! But on plus side, would your name on those liveries be good advertising..? Just a thought, we have overlapping tastes 😉

If only for morale purposes it might be best if you were a special visit every once in a while…if I went to the basketball court and Jordan was there playing pick up it’d be awesome but if he was there showing us up every day it would be less cool 😂

That’s a great idea! Feel free to share any race times, car specs, or tips here—after all, the "Community" page is meant for exactly that, not just setups.
Personally, I haven’t had much time to join lobby races lately—only managing to fit in Manufacturer races when I can.
Right now, I’m pretty busy working on car setups, but maybe I’ll have more time to race next month.

Hi, not sure where else to leave this. Just wanted to voice some feedback for the subscriber who maintains gt-setups.cc. Wanted to say, I preferred the old setup where the sidebar search was static instead of sliding out. Maybe I'm missing some use case where it makes sense, but I use his site on mobile and desktop, and the static sidebar seems to make more sense in both cases. It still works with the new implementation, just feels over-engineered and a bit more clunky now.

I’m aiming for a car that’s eager but safe, allowing for long races while competing with other racers. It should be stable enough to handle being in the middle of the pack without causing too many mistakes. Extreme settings aren’t safe for you or the others on the track.
I hate understeer. Masses like sane fast cars. Extreme settings can be driven in a pack only by aliens drivers . I do extremes setup for Time trial only.
Laurent Bouis
2025-02-09 02:05:20 +0000 UTC
The reason I think for them to be more understeer intensive since this wouldn’t be a specific tune for me and its more or less a tune for the masses.

Before I join the paid membership, I love sharp, oversteery cars. When you tune the cars, what are you aiming for? I’m presuming more understeery cars since they are easier to handle.
Thanks

That's been my experience. I only have a Logitech G29. I play with the controller sometimes. My difficulties have nothing to do with how the cars are tuned. Controller is easier to countersteer, and wheel is easier to control under hard braking, for example.

Just subbed. I think $8 CAD is perfectly reasonable for how much work this must take you. If i'm not happy with the value after one month, I cancel and i've lost out on half a Mcdonald's cheeseburger. If I am happy then that means your knowledge is valuable and worth rewarding you for it. I think i'll experience the latter, your detailed explanations are exactly what i'm looking for.

There are almost 400 cars completed here. How many setups can you copy and enjoy for a long, long time... for just $5? That’s 1.25 cents per car.

Yes, these setups work on a controller (pad) as well. I’m not a specialist in driving with a controller, but there’s no reason they wouldn’t work. The balance and driving inputs remain the same. Any differences in feel can likely be corrected through controller settings in my opinions.

Region you play has no effect on PP discrepancies. 99.9% of the time it is steps 7-9 and step 13 that is the issue. The other .1% is likely Praiano making a rare mistake on rim size and what he has listed for rims. Maybe from him forgetting to change rims after applying a different livery which can change your rim selections and chosen body parts style. I have been able to match it on those rare occasions by experimenting with the rims. Another thing not mentioned, or I missed if it was, is PP points can change slightly or drastically after each update. So if you are applying a tune from previous updates expect differences in PP and possibly how it handles in general.

I try to follow step by step but it's never fit's the PP. Just wondering if your settings are for America's as my setting show Max.Power BHP not HP or Max.Torque kgfm and Weight in Kg not lbs. Most of the tunes I copy from your sheets never match mine. Just wondering if it matters???

If you digit 500PP or 550PP in the "Search post " window , you'll find a list of this kind of cars.
Or try https:

There you can set 600PP , down the list you'll find 16 cars 550PP and 10 cars 500PP

Many possibilities. Could be an S part. Could also be rims that should be reset to "standard" and not an aftermarket set of rims. Computer vs no computer. manual v racing gearbox. Sometimes the wide vs normal body makes a difference
