Claxx (and some rambling about the Sunshine comic)

Another sci-fi piece! Claxx, the insect soldier. When I'm working on these pieces, I'm constantly thinking about what would be required to make an action figure of it, and what species I should use, etc. There's some constraints that I impose on myself to make the fake series 'believable' in the world of Sunshine, as it's supposed to be a series that Jua's a fan of.

The reason this villain isn't a mammal is because all of the people in Jua's world are mammals. There's no birds, bugs, reptiles, etc. in her world that are sentient. In the Guardians of the Cosmos characters, so far there are only three 'real' races represented, so far as the world the property exists in. Whitestar is a lion, Gruff is a goat, and Sea Widow is a bunny. The other mammalian looking characters are based on mythical creatures, though that will change as I go farther in. There's going to be an extinct mammal or two represented, and maybe a few other 'people' but I want to be careful with it. I may end up doing something like the Masters of the Universe did with the 'Gar' race of blue humans in the property, by making a few characters who are real world mammals, but with unusual coloration to make them more 'alien'.

That's enough rambling from me about a project that is less-than-meaningful, except that I want these things in my portfolio. It's mostly self indulgent, but I do honestly enjoy it. It does make me realize that I've never written out the 'rules' I've set myself for Sunshine's world, so I may do another post about that, at some point!
