I also hate Gohan's character in this arc.....he constantly is so cowardly....yes he shows up to give Goku energy but that's fine. Goten tries to go in to help Goku but Gohan once again only tells him he'll get in the way....Gohan says it's a bad plan to make Vegeta a Great Ape.....even though they have no other options and later he's going to be the one who says that he and the other saiyans can't help stall for time while Goku and Vegeta try to re-fuse. -- That being said though.... I think there is a subtle clue that Vegeta is just messing around since if you notice when he blasts his mouth blast at Bulma's machine it doesn't break and lands on Mr. Satan PLUS in the next episode we see that it can apparently still shoot blutz waves until Omega Shenron blows it up.
