Ok. Go with me on this one. The borg show up on this timeline. We deal with it, but the federation gets a kick in the pants to develop their technology just a little bit faster. Next thing you know, we get a discovery with holographic view screens and touch controls and an enterprise that’s 1000x bigger than the original. It didn’t make sense, but Lt. Rogers fixed it.
