I really don't listen to these bonus tracks enough. Florida Kilos and Flipside are so good in my opinion. I enjoy your commentary on the lyrics a lot and how you interpret them. You look at them with so much nuance and attention to detail.

2023-07-27 06:29:08 +0000 UTCMy thoughts: Florida Kilos seems very easy to dance to as a song. Is This Happiness; the reference to "...one headshot if able..." has a definitive suicide vibe to me. Possibly it has to do with my own depth of despair moment. Won't detail it too much except that I either had a spiritual moment of the "still, small voice" variety or my survival instinct successfully asserted itself and manifested as the same. Many years ago and am glad to be past that stuff.

Something about the repetitiveness of the chorus really bothered me, which is weird because it doesn't bother me with other songs. In fact Black Beauty is one of my favorites from this whole album and as you mentioned it's so repetitive. But listening to it for the first time in years I actually found myself enjoying it. That was a fun discovery. Not surprised at all that you loved Florida Kilos. It's such a fun song. I never thought about it being the flipside of Yayo but that makes so much sense. And Flipside was a Target exclusive. For some reason it was never released anywhere else. At least not in the US.
