Early Access, A *New* Dissection!

Just in time for Donkey Kong's 40th anniversary (or at least it will be when this review goes public), I am at last launching a new analysis under the "Dissection" branding. And this definitely deserves it. It's a monster of a video at 45 minutes long that's taken me over a year to put together. It's all about Donkey Kong Country, how this nearly-forgotten icon was revived in the '90s, and how the SNES-saving game holds up today. I'm very, very proud of this project, and I hope it's something you all enjoy.

Thanks MistareFusion! Wonderful and in-depth dissection! As someone who never actually played Donkey Kong country, (Playstation Kid, and before that an occasional Sega player) I was surprised by how much your glowing praise of a lot of the game makes me want to try it. Impressive! I do agree wth your critiques too that some of these secrets would be needlessly obtuse and ruin the level flow, but I wonder do you have the same critique for collectathon platformers like Crash Bandicoot or Spyro the Dragon. Or, since finding secrets is so baked into the premise of those games, do you enjoy that type of gameplay more? Either way, wonderful video! Thanks for letting your patrons see it this early before the 40th anniversary of Donkey Kong!
