So maybe I'm wrong but didn't Goku tell Vegeta that he didn't know how long he could hold Super Saiyan 3? If so then I'm really not bothered by his explanation because for all he knew he would've instantly dropped out of it and had to go back. If my english translation of that scene is wrong then I apologize. At the same time though, Goku's line at the Kid Buu fight saying "Oh yeah I could've beaten Fat Buu at SSJ3 but I wanted the boys to do it" is the thing that really bothers me about Goku in the Buu Arc.

No, it's correct. Piccolo is commenting on Goku's original plan to use Gohan or Vegeta. He says that he doesn't think Vegeta would perform Fusion even if he had survived.

At 23:10, is the "Of course Vegeta would hate to do it because Vegeta hates fun!" a flubbed line? Isn't it supposed to be Piccolo?

Why would Buu have been released if Goku and Vegeta didn’t fight? Also, he can communicate with them from Other World so even if that was his reasoning I wouldn’t get it..

Happy to finally be a patron Lance! Now let’s see if you say SSJ3 was a gag that went over everyone’s head like I’ve been saying...

Fat Gotenks

Such a great analysis as always! Why do you think about the reason that Goku didn’t use SS3 against Vegeta because Buu would have been released regardless and so Goku wouldn’t have any time left to leave them with a battle plan?
