Sasha doesn't know about Ilya & Shane he just lives in Paris. They're Shane's teammates at Montreal. Hockey players typically don't shave through playoffs and it's a thing that once they're knocked out they need to shave. It's very funny you see players winning the cup with a combination of the most ugly, unkept, scraggly beards in the universe and a couple of perfectly manicured ones. Ilya is saying, "This is for you mama!" when he's holding the cup. Which is very sweet and very heart-breaking as she was the only family member that consistently showed him love. Ilya genuinely doesn't think he has a choice in going back to Russia. It's all he knows and although he hates it, it's familiar. His mother's grave is there, he knows what to expect from the people there and while he's in Russia he can try and forget about his feelings for Shane (which he finds rather scary, he's better at it than Shane because at least he acknowledges to himself that there are feelings being felt). It appears that in Shane's head he's associated kissing with the idea that nothing went wrong, so having left without a kiss he thinks that he's fucked up somehow. Additionally, Ilya refuses to acknowledge him and previously has been super attentive, so the sudden switch up makes no sense to Shane, he can't read minds; he doesn't know that he's just touched a massive nerve in Ilya so he feels like he's done something to deserve Ilya ignoring him. This is not helped by Ilya having ghosted him for six months prior, nor is it helped by the fact that Ilya is still the only person he's ever had sex with; so he has no metric for what casual sex would look like with a different person.
