It just seems like an oddly specific choice (in a film where EVERY name is a reference) and his name gets repeated a lot, especially as he descends into a Carpenteresque blob. Some ahole exec maybe? Maybe its nothing. (Of course I would note this more than most people.) Thanks for the reply and the info!

James Gunn's first writing credit was Tromeo And Juliet for Troma films (who also made Toxic Avenger) a, in my opinion, highly superior movie to this (And his brother, Sean, has some great scenes in Tromeo.). But great to see the mention of his roots. I'll never get the love for Nathan Fillion. I've never liked him it anything I've seen him in. I just don't get his appeal.

He said the production moved along quickly. I don't think he has any issues with anyone named Grant. I started working with him when SLiTHER came out on DVD. It was also at a time he was thinking about leaving the industry. The movie didn't do well at the box office. He was married to Jenna at the time and she pushed him to make SUPER which changed the trajectory of his career.

This film helped propel James Gunn and lead him to eventually do Guardians of the Galaxy. He is a very good director. I too love Nathan Fillion, I am currently binging The Rookie which he stars in. It's so good! You should really try to check out Elizabeth Banks' directorial debut film Cocaine Bear (2023). It's a lot of fun.
