Vote for the direction on upcoming games!
Added 2021-02-24 20:32:07 +0000 UTCEdit for clarification:
'Twine' is a program used to create branching text based games, and can utilize a little bit of coding, to keep track of things from segment to segment, but it does things a little 'wonky' in my opinion, with how its code works. It also allows you to display a static image on the page.
'RPG Maker' is the program I used for the game sample. This method allows 'moving your character around' and seeing the world around you. It will be dialogue heavy and will have text-based sex scenes. HOWEVER, it also allows for static images that I can use to display real reference characters, or depictions of sex, or whatever I want.

That post, you should all be able to see 'what sort of game' I can make with RPG Maker. I've already gotten some good feedback on how to improve what's happening, and as I said before, that was just a small sample of what the gameplay would be like.
With that in mind, I want to get everyone's preference on how I should move forward with developing games. I will say, that 'doing nothing but writing' does wear me down over time, and that's essentially all I'd be doing with a Twine-based all-text branching path game. I can still do it, it's just there's less...fun, to the development of it. With RPG Maker, I'll be using the assets I displayed in the game sample. The assets are 2.5d and 'that' game would have a mix of those assets, and static images that can appear. The story's heavy-lifting and sex scenes, will still be text-based, but you'd have some more visuals throughout, and even during the sex scenes if I find images to spritz throughout.
So, what we're voting on, is this:
How do you feel about me working on an RPG Maker Game, as depicted in the game example, and letting the All-Text Twin-based Branching Path game, take more of a back seat (for the time being.)

I appreciate the feedback, I think what it really comes down to is this: I should make a game I know I can enjoy building, and use Patreon feedback throughout its development process. And like with a lot of things, we get better as we 'work at something.' The more games I make, the better they'll be.
2021-02-25 11:07:45 +0000 UTCI admit being confused by the voting responses which seemed to come off as double negatives. They could have been a little clearer. So I came up with the best most support response I could think of. The balance between over story telling and player interaction I would imagine being quit hard. In the end as the saying goes 'Actions speak louder than words' rings truer in games. I have heard about top selling games going the over narrative route and nearly killing a franchise, while it could easily go the other way around where there is not enough story to keep the game play interaction interesting. The sad truth is that I would think its like writing a good novel you have to go through four or five drafts to get the polished final work. And if you are anything like me I never know when to stop when you hit good enough. In the end you have to reveal enough to leave just enough for the player or readers imagination to take over.

2021-02-25 10:38:36 +0000 UTC:P I totally understand. I think that (also based on what you've said before) if I incorporate more static imagery to the RPG Game, it'll have a much stronger feel than a Text based one. I'm not sure if you're expressing support for Twine or RPG Maker. :3 Because as you just described, I can do that same thing in RPG Maker, but I would just add more imagery (like I did with the image of the witch, when she spoke.) So, I can do that, while also giving the player a 'visual' means of walking around and incorporating more RPG Elements. I think what it comes down to (for me) is that 'An all text game that just branches paths' Just feels like a Choose Your Own Adventure story. And while interesting, that just feels like writing a bunch of short stories (which I'm trying to veer away from.) I want to create a more engaging game, that also gives you that feel of being Gender-Swapped and ending up in all sorts of sexual situations. :)
2021-02-25 09:33:49 +0000 UTCAgain do what makes you feel good. But I will make comment about your work that made me want to become member. I love your writing style and not trying to crude here but what gets me aroused in context with the words you write is the image that is posted next to it. In reading your stuff I can imagine in my mind taking this pill and waking up half an hour later looking like that woman in the picture. Thus why the game would work great with the images in context with my choices. Example: You enter the Tavern fully aware of the leers you are getting in your cleavage exposing dress, this is getting you aroused for some reason and the eye of particularly handsome man catches your eye. After some flirty banter he gets a room and you follow him to it. Once the clothes come off do you: A. Get on your knees and proceed to give him oral to his delight B. Lay on the bed and spread you legs wide C. Get on the and get on all fours. The resulting images that come up would be what you choose. The crazy thing is that I can see myself in the woman's form acting this out in my head, and the images intensify the outcome (Nudge nudge wink wink)LOL.
