2024-09-05 16:02:30 +0000 UTCFor me the worst part about "how are you doing" when growing up was that I was honest and it always got me in trouble - 98% of the time, my honest answer was "I don't know." That one always caused me the problem of people asking "well who else would know?" And I didn't know that one either! So frustrating!

I like the story when during the war the Germans would paratroop spies into the English countryside, and they would be promptly caught when they go to the local pub as they would stick out like sore thumbs!

2024-08-29 21:58:38 +0000 UTCOMG. Idioms. I **hate** "how are you doing?" with a galaxy ending supernova passion. Why the hell are you asking if you don't really care? It irritates me no end, and apparently it shows on my face. Or maybe it's the pissed off way I snap out "still breathing" or "not dead yet" Edit: it also pisses me off that people don't actually answer it, because I really DO want to know how you're doing!
