Health Update 💉💦

I hope you all are doing well. If you've been keeping up to date with me on social media, then you would know that I had a health scare these last few weeks and I'm still in the process of figuring out what's going on.

A brief summary for people who don't know, back in March, I went to my GP (primary care doctor) in order to have a routine checkup and part of that exam was having a sonogram done as there was and still is a mass on my thyroid. A few days later, I was told to come in so the doctor can discuss the results, which is something you NEVER want to hear.

The sonogram stated that due to the quality of the mass, it was given a TI-RAD 5 score. TI-RAD stands for Thyroid Imaging Reporting & Data System and the scores given to a mass on a thyroid details the risk of the mass being malignant (aka cancer).

My GP gave me a referral to an ENT, I found one that accepted my insurance (go US healthcare system 😒) and went the following week, which was yesterday.

I had a biopsy done in the office which meant having a needle shoved in my neck (and not in the yandere kidnaps you type of way, unfortunately) and sporting a red mark that looked like a hickey after.

There is good news: the doctor stated that because the mass didn't change in size and because the last time I had a biopsy done, it was benign, the chances of it being malignant now is quite small. He also stated to not place too much importance on the TI-RAD scoring system as each institution has different standards on how to handle each of the cases.

I'll be picking up the report next week, so if anything should happen, I'll let you all know.

Anyway, the point of this post was to let you all know where I've been these last few weeks and why I haven't been streaming and facing burnout. This health scare really put a damper on a lot of things, but once I get everything sorted, I'll be back. It's hard to not know exactly what's happening, especially what's happening inside you. I'm taking it day by day and not jumping to conclusions because again, I don't know anything for certain yet.

Whatever happens next, I'll get through it and we'll have many, many, MANY more fun stories and adventures together.
