Full Metal Jacket (1987) | Full Length Reaction | Watch-along!!
Added 2025-08-07 19:03:54 +0000 UTCMy first time watching Full Metal Jacket.. and lemme tell you, this reaction was really tough at times. War films are brutal and scary in nature, but Full Metal Jacket is an incredibly unique film that will stick with me for a long time to come - the juxtaposition of such heavy, heart wrenching scenes immediately being followed by light, comical moments were shocking to the system but just made this movie so much more memorable by tugging on your emotions like that. I really enjoyed the narrative that was presented by this movie, bringing to light how boot camps will break you down and the long term psychological effects these experiences have on you.
I really enjoyed this and would love to hear your opinions!! 🪖📝💥

It would be interesting to see your reaction to Tom Cruise in Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut.

As if just being in the same platoon somehow indicates what appears to me as an unreliable family trust relationship. I wonder if the "BRONESS" in my area came from vietnam. My dad was in vietnam, he passed away when I was 13, and his ashes are on Point Loma, same Point Loma Val Kilmer's character was buried at in Top Gun: Maverick. San Diego has had a large military culture since my grandfather was at north island and the calling of everyone "BRO" has infected San Diego to it's core so that EVERY random Gen Z stranger now calls you it everywhere you go around here. Since I only have one, I grew up believing that the term brother is suppose to be special, not given to any random guy you don't know, and It's quite annoying to hear an unearned family title tossed around so often around me. Some guys half no clue how much of a parody of themself they sound like.
