I did NOT EXPECT for this movie to turn out how it did in the slightest, but man was it done so well, and so fun to watch.
I DIDN'T KNOW THIS WAS A HORROR MOVIE and you guys know I LOVE my horror films 🤗 so it was already a ton of fun for me to watch ✨

Yes, music had naysayers in the 1930's. Every change to the culture, to the art mediums, to the styles comes with criticism; a lot of it from the church(es) back then. Especially in small or more rural towns. I live in a midwestern city, biggest city between Chicago and Denver. If you drive far enough out of town and lose the radio stations, you will start picking up the rural stations; many of which are extremely religious and are 24/7 gospel still even today. I know it feels weird to think about but, yeah, its still out there. There will always be people against change, every day of every year. Michael B. Jordan seems to really enjoy roles where he dies slowly, lol. Here and in Black Panther as Killmonger.
