2025-06-29 00:04:38 +0000 UTC-The Barrel of Monkeys is a reference to "The Wizard of Oz" -When Rex knocks down Mr Potato heads crime scene he called him "Godzilla" -When They use the cameras to blind the prospector its a reference to the Hitchcock film "Rear Window" -You can see "A Bugs Life" character in the toy shop -"2001 A Space Odyssey" music plays when buzz is on the floating steps -The Prospector is based on a character from one of my favorite films ever "The Treasure Of Sierra Madre" from 1948

2025-05-13 10:54:43 +0000 UTCFun fact the production of Toy Story 2 was crazy. They originally planned to make it a cheap direct to DVD sequel, but switched to theatrical release mid production. Then when they were almost done one of the people who worked on the film actually deleted all their work on the film. However by a mere miracle a member of the team was on maternity leave working from home, and just so happened to have saved a copy to her home computer. They were able to salvage 90% of the movie, and if it wasn’t for her this movie would most likely not exist. Also in unofficial cannon the people who worked on the movie have said that Woody was/is the only Woody doll made for the show meaning he’s literally a one of a kind toy. There’s also a fan theory that Andy’s mom is Jessie’s original owner, and that’s why it wasn’t a surprise when Andy got Jessie. Toy Story 2 is a near perfect sequel, but Toy Story 3 is 10x better, and makes it the perfect trilogy. If you haven’t already filmed your reaction for Toy Story 3, fair warning, you will need tissues.

Woody’s phrase “There a snake in my boot” is a very obscure reference to hallucinations brought on by excessive drinking, similar to our phrase “seeing pink elephants”. Unfortunately, Al is not voiced by Newman, he is voiced by Wayne Knight, best known for Dennis Nedry in Jurassic Park. Tour Guide Barbie is voiced by Jodi Benson best known for Ariel in the Little Mermaid. Speaking of Barbie, the song that is playing during the party is “Wipeout” by the Surfaris. When they previewed Jesse’s flashbacks for the crew, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room, both Hanks and Allen were moved to tears.

2025-05-12 21:14:37 +0000 UTCThere is a short film called Geri's Game that is all about that toy restoration guy for more ASMR goodies, V, lol. Toy Story 2 was a big deal. Lots of actors started doing more voice work thanks to their work here. Joan Cusack is the voice of Jessie. She's known for being a very animated individual in a lot films, lol, very dramatic and exaggerated facial expressions. The pizza delivery truck can be seen in a lot Pixar films. This film kinda sealed the deal on having all the Pixar films exist in the same universe. You'll see tons of references to other films all over the background. A Bug's Life came right before this one. And as you can see, they really flamed the torch on having end credit scenes. At this time in film, you would see a lot of outtakes in the credits of family friendly and comedy action films. Lots Jackie Chan films during this time. Those really popularized end credit stuff. Remember, Pixar takes years to make its films because of the attention to detail. Now you need to add Small Soldiers and both City Slickers films to the list. This movie always reminds me of these wholesome films, lol.

2025-05-12 16:06:29 +0000 UTCFun fact. This movie nearly ended pixar as they were about 3/4 of the way through making the movie when they accidently deleted the entire movie up until that point. Luckily there was a technical director who did some work from home (due to maternity leave) who had a copy that was missing only about a couple weeks work.
