Added 2025-03-06 01:46:44 +0000 UTCFor those of you who are fans of Indian cinema - here's a film that was highly requested! (Almost every video I've posted has had this film requested in the comments LMAO)

So I was trying to figure out the editing. There were jump cuts every 1-3 seconds for the entire film. Quick cuts are usually to keep the intensity up but also for filming action scenes due to the fact that so much is going on on-set that you might only get a couple good seconds of an explosion or a drive-by or a fight from the right angle. I get that they wanted to keep the intensity up and keep you glued to the screen because you'd definitely miss something if you aren't, with the speed of cuts. However, I think I noticed a different use of cutting a film like this. Action/romance films have a problem of getting too cheesy and too serious. Overly dramatic and not very good at poking fun at itself. Too much brooding, over-acted emotions or long sweeping scenes of actors breathing heavy and puffing out their chests, staring out into the middle distance, lol. But the quick cuts might have prevented dwelling on a scene for too long that it could be made fun of or develop a small sense of awkwardness that makes you feel that "okay, now you're just doing to much", like when you watch a telenovela, lol. At first, I was getting that telenovela vibe from the seriousness of everybody before he started telling the story. Did you notice the cuts where the camera would circle around our characters but there would be something in the foreground like a pillar/pole or people blocking your view? It gave a sense of being a kid, moving through a crowd, trying to get a good view of the action.
