2025-01-12 15:42:33 +0000 UTCSo this film was a cultural phenomenon at the time of release. Remember, 2002, 1 year after 9/11. The "war on terror" having started. People full of rage and fear in many places in the world. And then a film released about a Rage virus. How devastating and contagious rage and hate can be. How sick those that are so easily capable of harming others can be. How Jim represents those that don't pay attention or even know what is going on in the world because they are so engrossed in their own problems; then wake up to a world gone to hell and tearing itself apart. In order to capture some of those shots of an abandon London, they had to film early in the morning, on the weekend, when its sunny lol, on holidays when businesses close. Nearly impossible task. There is a comic this was based off of that takes a different turn when Frank gets infected. In the comic, there is a rumor that there is a way to cure an infected person but it requires trading lives. A complete 100% blood transfusion in order to get all the infected blood out of someone and then fill them back up with uninfected blood. Medically impossible, of course, which is why they took this turn as you can see, but in the comic, they do save Frank, because Jim decides to give up his own blood, i think, lol, its been a long time since I read it and I only read it the once. important note that these are not actual zombies. Just infected, not undead. In zombie lore, it became common place to always refer to these fast types as '28 days later zombies' so people knew which type you were talking about. Of course today, there are all kinds of types as zombies became more popular in the culture. Lastly, did you know that nightmares of zombie hordes imply a fear of an unstoppable inevitability? Meaning that you are having a subconscious/conscious anxiety about that something could be happen in your life that you are dreading (this can also include, but is not limited to, that feeling that wakes you up in the middle of the night of having a desperate need for the toilet, lol). Zombie hordes, tidal waves, or something that symbolizes an impossibility of stopping. Just a little dream interpretation for you, lol.

2025-01-10 03:20:02 +0000 UTCMy recommendation would be to go through Danny Boyle’s filmography. He is literally one of the most varied directors working today. Trainspotting, Millions, Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, Sunshine, The Beach… All so different. The man is always trying to do something new.
