I had an absolute blast watching this movie and I’m sure you’ll be able to tell how much fun it was 🥹 I hope you enjoy with me!! I liked it way more than I thought I would and I think they definitely did the Transformers very well, my fav part of the film✨
also just a lil spoiler: I’ll be dropping another very good movie (in the next couple days) that I am EXCITED to get into since ahem there is an additional film within the series coming out during 2025 🥰🥰 also a film series I’m NERVOUS to get into BUUUT it looks soooo good, not to mention I’ve had requested a lot over time!!

Funny coincidence, the red head guy from boston in the beginning who got scorpion stabbed is the same actor who was the Scott Farkus bully in A Christmas Story.

If you re-read what I wrote, it was from the perspective of the angry fans at time this film was released, not my personal beefs. Spoilers for anyone reading this far. If she watches the sequels, I was going to point out how Michael Bay doesn't have or cares about consistecy. Each film is constantly re-writing the lore establish in of the previous films. The reason they don't have consistency is because Michael Bay doesn't plan for sequels when we makes his films. He labelled the tank as Devastator because the second film was not green lit. This is why people have a problem with Michael Bay's directing. He sacrifices every rule about making films just to make the current film he is working on look cooler than it is.

2025-01-03 07:31:26 +0000 UTCLore Dump, lol This film is criticized for being one big car commercial combined with an armed forces recruitment poster, lol. Which is pretty true because of all car product placement (Bumble Bee's Camero rebuild coincided with the launch of the new Camero redesign, as were many of the other cars and trucks) and any film that shows the armed forces in a positive light gets military funding. That is how Michael Bay does the style he is branded with. Big explosions, big car chases, lots of destruction, high quality CGI, lots of tanned sweaty people that are constantly breathing heavily, lol, plus a good dose of cleavage, lots of military vehicles just driving or flying around everywhere, super amped-up badass hacking scenes with lots of non-sequitur computer jargon lmao (even the hackers are sweaty and tanned, lol), everyone has to be awesome, lots of comic relief nerds, everyone has to be hot (temperature and attractiveness, lol), and everyone has to be the most elite in their field ("There is only one hacker in the world that can crack this code!" who just so happens to live just a couple blocks from here and is a gamer living in his grandma's house, lol) except for the regular all-american nobody as the unlikely hero who gets the girl in the end, lol. BUT it was an awesome movie to see in the theaters when it came it out. The formula works. The backlash, which was drowned out by how well the film did, comes from the alterations to the lore. It is dumbed down for newbie audiences, essentially, and old school fans were upset at how poorly some transformers were represented. Jazz was considered a racist rewrite as he was turned into a hip hop/rap/club DJ artist, the only character that was rewritten with African American undertones, i.e. your token black guy of the Autobots (also the only Autobot that gets killed). Another upsetting change was the Decepticon Devastator. In the old cartoons, Devastator is one of the most feared and dangerous Decepticons. He is massive because he is 6 Decepticons joined together to make one massive Godzilla sized robot of destruction. Here he was just a measly tank. And without an explanation, audiences walked away, like you, V, thinking Optimus Prime and Megatron were actual brothers when in the lore they are brothers in arms, as in they fought side by side, not actual brothers. And Starscream didn't have his signature shrill voice. Fun fact: the first Transformer cartoons were imported from Japan. The American team that dubbed the audio didn't have any Japanese translators. The English audio recorded was scripted based on what they could decipher and figure out was happening in each episode just by watching it, lol.
