Instead of judging that Kreese hasn't grown out of his old habits, Johnny needed to see how much Kreese hadn't changed. He gave it a shot, he kept his eye on him, and he made a level-headed decision to ban him for appropriate reasons. He gave Kreese a chance, like we hope we could do for others, and Kreese is the one who blew it. Johnny's hands and conscious can be washed clean, I feel. Remember, Johnny looked up to Kreese when he was a kid. Kreese is a reminder, now, of how Johnny doesn't want to end up as. Caring for others, guiding others, and seeing your worse traits develop in them is a huge wake-up call to spend some time growing and healing yourself. Johnny doesn't want these kids to go through what he went through. He knows he was trained by an ex-soldier that couldn't give up the war he fought in; a flawed man that did in fact know how to fight. Johnny is trying to take the good from that and leave the bad in the past, like Kreese should've been doing all these years. It can be hard for people like Kreese to change when so much of who they are is the very thing they need to let go of. For now, my favorite character is the memory of Mr. Miyagi. The creators know the spirit of the old films and I love how they spliced in some clips of the timeless lessons he taught.

As many times as I've binged it, and I am still unsure if I can narrow it down to one. Perhaps I could, but if I went with that one, it would be a spoiler for a part we're not at yet, so that character will remain nameless. For now.
