I LOVED THIS MOVIEEEEEEE SSSSOOOOO MUCH i was entirely impressed by this sequel and adored how they incorporated the first movie into building into this one. I had so much fun watching this and you could definitely tell 😆😆 I love the whole casts energy and I can safely say it is one of, if not THE best sequel to a classic film that I have ever watched 🥹🥹

When will part 3 be going up? I see that it's on YouTube.

Glad you didn't watch the trailer for part 3, it gives far to much away

Matt

They did replace both George, and Jennifer’s actor. Crispin Glover Who played George didn’t return due to salary negotiations failing, and he didn’t like the message of the film. However they used different camera angles, previously filmed footage, and molds of Grover’s face to try, and hid the recast. Claudia Wells Who played Jennifer planned to return, but right before filming was going to start her mom got diagnosed with cancer, and she chose to take care of her mom. Fun Fact: The alternative version of Biff the actor, and creator based him off Trump. Also the cubs came close to winning the World Series, but they were off by a year. Also select theaters are showing part 2 next Month in honor of the movies 35th anniversary.

Joe Bettcher

Was literally thinking that 🤣

Matt

You're correct, they replaced Jennifer with Elizabeth Shue who was also the main love interest in the first karate kid movie. I hope you post part 3 before it goes off Netflix in a couple of days.

Okay, so I may have joined this Patreon so I could make this comment, but I think I'm gonna stick around anyway! ;) Marveling at the special effects in this movie, prior to widespread use of computer generated effects, most of the shots were achieved with last generation compositing: the ages-old camera "trick" of blocking off parts of the lens, filming part of a scene, then switching up the blocking, running back the film, and with specific calculations, measurements, and timing, filming the other half of the scene with the same actor so that the finished, developed, film runs the scene as you see it. It wasn't always done with computers... filmmakers used to be able to do this trick with physical know-how and planning. The best example of early film nailing this process is Buster Keaton's "The Playhouse". At one point, there are 9 Busters on screen at the same time, and that was done in-camera, using 1 take per Buster, over 100 years ago!

You definitely need a DeLorean in the back (:

Roiland TV predates Rick and Morty and Doc and Mharti was a bit he'd do. The show was akin to interdimnsional television in R&M. Kinda anyways. It was just a bunch of seperate bits roiland would voice. He really was the heart and soul of Rick and Morty and it's a shame a false allegation ruined it all. https://youtu.be/93sG5s_HYwk?si=ILULXejaNF28U-91

Biff was also the villain in the Back to the Future Ride at Universal Studios. The ride itself was decommissioned but you can see the pre-ride movie with Biff & Christopher Lloyd and the ride on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feaC30j1D3s Also, there were some sad predictions that they didn't get right. For example, a newspaper article mentions that "Queen Diana" is coming to the US for a visit, and there is a shot of NYC that prominently features the Twin Towers. Bummer.

David Sumner

The "prediction" about the Cubs winning the World Series wasn't far off; though they made the playoffs in 2015, they were eventually eliminated, and went on to win the World Series in 2016.

They did replace Jennifer for the second and third films with Elizabeth Shue, aka Madelyn Stillwell in The Boys. They also recast George McFly but hid it by putting old man makeup on him in 2015 and kept him upside down, lol. Then they kept him out of focus in 1955 for the scenes that were remade from a different angle so they could use the footage from the first film Alternate 1985 Biff is not based off Trump, exactly, btw. He is based off the troupe of corrupt Casino owner/mob guy...not a far off comparison from Trump, lol, but the troupe existed before Trump became one. This is a troupe from a long time ago, even past the Rat Pack days. Casino/brothel/gentlemen club owners are a very old stereotype. Like Ancient Rome old but further. Gambling has existed forever and history is littered with sleaze bags acting like God’s gift. However, Trump was the closest version of that in the 80’s, lol. Elijah Wood was one of the 2 lil' kids playing the arcade game in the Cafe 80's in 2015. Yes, Rick and Morty is based off of Back to the Future. Dan Harmom, creator of Rick and Morty, is a big 80's nostalgia guy. So is Seth MacFarlane, so yes, there are quite a handful of Back to the Future references in Family Guy too. When 2015 actually happened irl, there was tons of "Back to the Future 2" references all over the place. There was even a series of videos, by Christopher Llyod, sponsoring actual Hoover Boards being made in 2015, which was a total April's Fool prank, lol. Theoretically, however, hoover boards could work if all pavement had magnetized metal in it so the boards could repel the magnetic force. The Earth’s magnetic field isn’t strong enough to repel the boards. So…in the Café 80’s, those tv screens with MJ and Reagan and other 80’s icons. In the 80’s, using the latest in CGI tech, there was a video DJ on MTV called Max Headroom made in that CGI, that behaved exactly like that; glitches, studders, weird laugh and all. We, as I speak for all Gen Xers lol, …aren’t proud of that bit of 80’s lore, lol. Did you notice how Michael J Fox plays himself, his older self, his past self, his son, AND his daughter? Lol And notice how Needles is played by Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers? Lol The goon that wore 3d glasses actually didn’t outgrow them, lol. If you look at him in 1985, he has gold frames but the lenses are red and blue. They are sunglasses so the lenses are polarized but if you catch them in the light, you’ll see they are red and blue, lol. Notice how a lot of scenes were parallel to the first film? They literally took advantage of repeating the first movie to recreate the beloved-ness and create true hype, but only because what other movie at the time uses so much of the first film to literally build scenes into the second film using the first film’s footage? Lol.

we do have the nike moon shoes...lol they are just super expensive

Your second plot hole regarding Biff returning to the future makes sense and is one I spotted as well. The way I "resolved" it in my mind is that the future did change when Biff went into the past except the altered future went unnoticed by Marty and Doc because they were "part" of the future timeline already (in similar manner that it was safe to leave Jennifer and Einstein behind in 1985), and they only had a few minutes' time between rescuing Jennifer and returning to 1985. Also, both the cops and the cab driver warned it was a rough neighborhood, so perhaps the changes would have been less noticeable in an already-bad place? You first plot hole, however, is wrong. The fact Marty and Jennifer were in the future simply meant that given all their actions thusfar in the future, they were guaranteed to return to their own time. Nothing on their present course had yet altered that fact. Had something happened to change their ability to return - for example, if any of them were locked up in jail or if the DeLorean was destroyed - it would make sense that the timeline would then be altered and they'd be "missing" for 30 years. The reason Einstein disappeared for one minute is because Doc never sent him back nor did he ever have any intention of doing so.

Thank you V :)

Great reaction! Haven't seen enough movies with Billy Zane to be super surprised to see Billy Zane in a movie just yet. We all get there eventually.

Brian's Dog

You know, it’s kind of amusing how you were obsessed with Elija Wood before the movie started and you missed him completely in the Cafe 80’s. I do enjoy your reactions.

S. D.

Haven’t had a chance to watch yet, but idk if you caught on but rich, powerful, corrupt Biff is based off Trump lol.

Tyler Gorash

"This is why you don't put girlfriends in trash!" Every reaction is a treasure trove of memorable soundbites.

I love the Back to The Future film series, but man, this one has the biggest time travel plot holes of all the films! The events in this movie should not happen, and it's hard to just ignore! First- When Doc, Marty and Jennifer travel 30 years into the future at the beginning of the film, their "future selves" should NOT be there! They took themselves OUT of the timeline by traveling to the future, so when they arrive in 2015, to everyone else they would have been missing for the past 30 years. They established this in the first film. At the beginning of the first movie, when Doc's dog Einstein traveled 1 minute into the future, to Doc and Marty, Einstein disappeared and was missing for the full minute before he reappeared in the time machine. So... "old" Marty, "old" Jennifer and their kids should not exist when Marty, Doc, and Jennifer arrive in 2015. Ok, let's ignore that huge plot hole for a moment. The other big time travel logic hole involves "old" Biff from the future. So Old Biff steals the time machine and goes back to 1955 to give young Biff the sports almanac. After that, old Biff should NOT have been able to return the time machine back to the normal 2015 timeline. The future he would have time traveled to would have been the new "alternate" 2015 that was created when he gave young Biff the sports book. Doc even explained to Marty on the chalkboard why they couldn't go back to the "normal" 2015 to stop old Biff from stealing the time machine and almanac, because they would be traveling to a future of THAT timeline that was created once old Biff gave the sports almanac to his 1955 self. Sorry so long -winded!
