Avatar: The Last Airbender [B2 Ep 18] | Full Length Reaction

I didn’t realize… that this was the final episode of Book 2…. And Iroh’s original voice actor - Mako Iwamatsu’s final episode before he passed.

Along with all of the events occurring throughout these episodes…. All of these things mixing into one big stressful, and tearful concoction. I felt so sad and upset by the end of this episode. I don’t know how to explain it but it hurt, and I feel panic almost set in knowing we’re entering the beginning of the final book, book 3. 😞 thank you so much for you guys joining me on this heart wrenching journey thus far. Happy we can see it through till the end together ❤️

I can agree. I believe that the three best television endings are Breaking bad, Attack on Titan, and ATLA.

Zuko turning against his uncle and just backsliding after coming so far…such a gut punch. It’s like someone zapped all the hope from the world seeing that.

She was in the process of moving and got really sick in the meantime. 🙁 She said she’ll get back on track soon though!

Jeez I went on vacation expecting to come back to a feast. Is there a reason atla got dropped to twice a month?

It wasn’t until this rewatch that I realize how much of an emotional roller coaster the second half of book 2 really is. Things are about to get crazy with book 3. If you go back, and watch Appa’s Lost Days Sokka, and Katara’s dad makes a non speaking cameo appearance. Fun fact Long Feng was only able to gain power because the Earth King assumed the throne at just 4 years old, and Long Feng used the opportunity to gain control of Ba Sing Se.

In regards to the finale being ranked so high, one of the things that really made it awesome for me was that a half hour cartoon had a 2 hour long, 4 episode marathon event finale. It was unthinkable to me and they were amazing episodes on top of that! This is definitely one of my favorite shows ever

This season was the last recordings that Mako did for the show. The very last things he recorded were the "Leaves from the Vine" part from Tales of Ba Sing Se and that's part of why he was so emotional. He was saying goodbye to the character and to the fans as he was at the end of his life 😢

Azula breaking the unwritten anime rule and attacking mid transformation never gets old lmao

I'm so happy you finally got to this episode, it's my favorite in the whole series. That said, Book 3 has a TON of great episodes too, and I really hope we get more than one every two weeks!! I know the move has been crazy for you so no pressure but aaaa I love this show and I want more of it

Okay so just so you know, season 3 is 21 episodes, so prepare yourself, and don't believe what the Netflix Numbers say, since they mush episodes together and it gets all jumbled. 😅 Zuko not being able to stand by his "change" makes a lot of sense. I think about Zuko like an addict. And for a while he's been clean, unable to use his drug of finding the Avatar and restoring his honor. But now, Azula comes in and literally offers everything he's ever wanted on a silver platter. You only truly make change when you're tested with old behaviors and you stick to what your new beliefs are. But Zuko couldn't do that. He gave in, and betrayed even Iroh in order to get it. Even if Azula was lying, she's not stupid, and would know if somehow he was playing a double agent. Zuko isn't naive, he's human. And change doesn't happen immediately. It happens very slowly, and Zuko had a big backslip, which is definitely part of growth 😭 I think Zuko actually betraying them makes more sense for the character than him immediately joining when he's only had a couple days of change. I know it's sad when series almost end, but it's not over yet. You've got a whole season to chew through! Can't wait for season 3 🙌
