Better Call Saul S5 Episode 6 | Full Length Reaction!

ITS BEEN A MINUTE since the last BCS eppy drop!! Sorry about that so let’s continue on with Season 5 - Episode 6 of Better Call Saul!!

UM… WHHAAAAAAAAAT WAS THAT ENDING??????? KIM??? WHAT

I NEED ANSWERS??? 😭😭

Comments

We saw at the start of the episode how Kim's childhood was. She was never in a settled, happy environment. It looks like her father was absent, and her mother was probably either a good-time girl, a scammer, and perhaps an alcoholic, who only thought of Kim secondary. For better or worse, she's drawn to these types of addictive people, and is becoming one herself. Jimmy - er I mean Saul - playing her as a sap here brings all this past life back for her; but she still thinks there is good within the "Goodman" and still feels their relationship is worth fighting for, so she, like Saul himself, always goes to the extreme option to save it; i.e. get married. And I agree with you V. When this show started we were all calling him Saul and saying "who is this 'Jimmy' guy?, lets get to Saul!!!"; now that he's here, we all want Jimmy back as we have seen most of the path he has gone on to become this odious scumbag.

You were asking for a spinoff.. have you seen that Jesse Pinkman knows Creed Bratton from the office?

Would Kim suggest marriage so they would have spousal privilege and not be required to testify against one another?

There's a pretty logical reason that Kim proposes marriage though I won't spoil it ;-) but I remember people figuring it out back when the episode first aired. And btw, we really don't know that they won't get married. Breaking Bad didn't really go deep (or at all) into the personal life of Saul. For all we know, she's still around in Breaking Bad. But even if she isn't, you know that marriage isn't actually forever, right? xD At least it doesn't have to be. Divorce does exist. And as I said, we don't really know much about Saul's personal life in Breaking Bad (except one interesting throwaway line that I won't repeat here because it's potentially a spoiler). I also love how everyone watching this show is slowly catching up to what Chuck was saying all along. Chuck seemed unjustifiably harsh und unforgiving when it came to Jimmy and not believing he could change but it's hard to argue he was wrong when you look at what Jimmy has been doing these past seasons. In their last big argument where Jimmy was apologizing to Chuck, this was their final exchange: C: "Look at you, you're in so much pain. Why are you putting yourself through all this?" J: "Because I wanted to tell you—" C: "—that you have regrets. And I'm telling you, don't bother! What's the point? You're just gonna keep hurting people." J: "That's not true." C: "Jimmy, this is what you do! You hurt people, over and over and over, and then there's this show of remorse." J: "It's not a show." C: "I know you don't think it's a show, I don't doubt your emotions are real. But what's point of all the sad faces and the gnashing of teeth? If you're not gonna change your behaviour, and you won't, why not just skip the whole exercise? In the end, you're gonna hurt everyone around you. You can't help it, so stop apologizing and accept it, embrace it! Frankly, I'd have more respect for you if you did." Of course, Chuck goes on to be unnecessarily cruel and part of this is also to try and make himself feel better about not needing a relationship with Jimmy but still. It's ironic how so many of us were on Jimmy's side. But Chuck had experienced this his whole life and we're just now catching up on the fact that no, Jimmy is not in fact going to improve. I know Chuck could have probably made a difference, if he had just believed in him and supported him more, maybe that would have made a difference. But it's kind of hard to judge him too harshly when he just saw that nothing he did, even when he did try, made any sort of difference.

Possible Easter egg: Detective Robert is the same detective in Breaking Bad that was investigating the disappearance of Walter White back in Season 2, apparently as a favor to Hank. In this episode, he's having a conversation on the phone. While we can't hear who is on the other end, the gist of the conversation is clear. Roberts is talking to someone about an opossum underneath their porch, although the person on the phone is concerned this could be a dead body. In Breaking Bad season 3 episode 10, the Fly episode, Jesse tells Walt about an opossum under his house, back when it belonged to his aunt. Many have suspected that Roberts was talking to Jesse on the phone in Better Call Saul and though its unconfirmed, this couldn't have been a coincidence by the same writers :)

Spinoffs? Somehow Brandon Mayhew becomes a cop, maybe his friend Pete is a CI, and somehow we get Skinny and the Badge... (r) :D I'll let myself out...

MertzRocks

I only learned of the show in the 20-teens and I'm on 8 or 9 next time I re-watch... :D This is my 4th time thru BCS :D

Slippin Jimmy at his finest.

For me , i think the Kim does love jimmy but also has an addiction to the life her and jimmy so have together and the conning. Even tho every instinct in her gut is telling her to leave she makes excuses to heresled to stay. So when the time comes to end it and walk away she cant so do it and instead doubles down.

I wonder what lawyer will Lalo call when he's arrested lmao

Jane Mayers

There's no more Breaking Bad universe series after this however the creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould are making a new series with Rhea Seehorn (who plays Kim) as the lead

Matt

Believe it or not, but The Walking Dead is in the same Breaking Bad universe. One character in the show even has a bag of blue meth. lol

Donovan Sparks

Also want to mention that Midsommar is winning the horror poll and there's 2 different versions so before you watch that mabe ask to see what version most people have access too, I'm fine with either 🙂

Matt

Again want to recommend MR ROBOT for when you finish BCS â¤

One of the best scenes in this episode in my opinion is Mike learning that Gus has been threatening Nacho's father to keep him in line. You can see in Mike's face the contained anger and his voice slightly trembles when he tells Nacho that they will discuss it after Lalo is dealt with. Truly great acting!

Jacob Lunbeck

I have rewatched Breaking Bad for 5 times and I enjoyed every time almost the same as the first one :)
