It feels like it was just yesterday that we began with the first episode.. :')) I felt it was a good ending to the first season which set up a perfect amount for the following season. ALSO UMMMM???????????? I KNOW THIS IS A LOT OF PEOPLE'S FIRST TIME WATCHING THE SHOW TOO SO... NOT GONNA SAY A SPOILER BUT ?????????? THE ENDING BLEW MY MIND (thats why i went off for 10 minutes LMAO)

One of the few shows in existence that continues to get better every season. Though I havenโt seen the latest season so that might be wrong. But 1-5 is just amazing.

2024-08-21 21:34:49 +0000 UTCHonestly, the downfall of Karate from the 80's to the 2000's was a lack of humor. A lot of teachers were similar to Kreese. He was an extreme version, embellished for the film, but a lot of people couldn't stand humor in martial arts. They felt it lacked discipline and a lot of children were put into dojos, by parents that didn't know how to or even try to raise their kids, to teach them discipline. A majority of American martial art films didn't have humor either or were cast with performers that had massive egos so big that they wouldn't allow comedy in their films unless they got to say the joke (badly); Steven Seagal, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme. These guys can't stand jokes about them and they made a majority of American martial art films. Even Wesely Snipes and Cynthia Rothrock are a part of this crowd. They can take some humor but their egos are still really big. Basically, these are the divas of martial art films in America. Now, martial art films stayed alive in other countries because they had humor and actors that have good senses of humor; Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Stephen Chow. Humor and joy allows us to deal with failure. It releases the stress and encourages you to try again. They allow it to bring peace and balance. Without humor and joy, anger and hate become your motivators. They remove the fun from martial arts and make it all about pride and ego. That's why it faded out of view. It wasn't fun anymore and became filled with bullies and fragile egos.

The fight scenes were great which isn't a surprise as all the actors were trained in karate throughout the time on the show the actor playing hawk is one of the very best irl . Mary mouser who plays Sam has a video on her YouTube channel from 5yrs ago that she filmed between seasons worth checking out but not before watching season 2 . Super excited to get into season 2 where without spoiling on of my favourite characters join the show ๐ . Kreese being back eeeeek . Cheers for the wonderful journey through season 1 Vicky it's been a blast

I wish they had stretched out the first season to 15 to 20 episodes and fleshed out Miguel and Johnny's stories just a bit more and then left em at that honestly. I still enjoyed the next few seasons though, and I'm almost positive you will too.

This show absolutely nails what we love about the original movies, but takes the story in meaningful, realistic directions. Absolutely fantastic stuff. I'm so glad you're watching it!
