I think this is true. I grew up since I was little not being shy of countless micro-exposures every day (rubbing an itchy nose or eye with the dusty hand I'd been working with, having that ol' five second rule (on dry foods), or drinking from a soda can without washing it first, etc etc) and I believe whole-heartedly that that's why I very, very rarely get 'sick'. I expect maybe one decent cold per cool season, and even then it's not really bad enough to have to call in to work. I'm pretty proud of my immune system (oh and never once got a flu shot). It's the reason that infants have an evolutionary instinct to put everything they find in their mouths. The first couple dozen months is when they'll have the most powerful immune systems and it's seeking out samples of every common thing it can find to build a defense for the rest of their lives. Funny story though - the worst cold I ever had was in the middle of summer when I tried out an 'antibacterial' shower gel I found at the store. It kicked my ass so hard. I learned to value my skin's ecosystem, and ever since then I'd restricted that kind of sanitation to washing my hands after using the restroom or before putting my contacts in.

"I wash my hands all the time and carry hand sanitizer with me every where I go" There's your problem miss, you clearly need more dirt in your life. Take it from some one who has self isolated before it was cool, your immune system goes to the gutter if you don't expose it to daily natural things. From age zilch to age 34ish, I barely took care of myself, and never got sick. I was one of those weird cases where the only times in my life I've ever gotten the flu was when I was forced to get a flu shot. Then, life happened, and I stopped going outside. Now the once or twice a year I go outside, it's almost a guarantee I'm going to at minimum come back with a cold. TL;DR We should both start eating dirt.

At the end, he was going through basically survivors guilt. He was thinking about all the time he would enjoy with his family at the expense of leaving the burden of stopping kira on the rest of the task force - almost like he's selfishly allowing them to die

Lol, the Death Note isn't evil, V. The power it grants is corrupting. Light still has those negative qualities, just like how we all have negative qualities (or rather immature qualities that we all need to work on). The power the Death Note grants gives those intrusive thoughts agency. Light is still arrogant (like many geniuses) and impulsive (example: punching L) but like all people without power, we know we are limited in enforcing our will onto society, which gives us temperament and reason (as well as a innate fear of consequences), and that ultimately leads to humility and restraint. But give someone the ability to reshape society in their image by removing whomever they deem necessary, while also being able to remove those that would try to impose consequences on them for their actions/choices. And give that power to a very intelligent person that is still young enough to feel that his ideals are the right ones but too young to have great wisdom to temper those ideals...you get Kira. That is actually the difference between Light and L, if you haven't noticed it yet that is. Light doesn't have L's wisdom. L has been catching bad guys for a long time. He has an understanding of human behavior. He is compassionate even to the bad guys. Light is passionate but inexperienced in compassion and understanding. If you notice, L is often adding wisdom to Light's discoveries, realizations, and epiphanies.
