Avatar: The Last Airbender [B2 Ep 8] | Full Length Reaction

So.. a LOT happens in this episode; theres insanely good fight scenes, characters meeting, characters falling, and SO MUCH DRAMA - yet there are also some incredibly sweet moments... all within 25 minutes WTF HOW DO THEY DO IT???:')))) I don't want to give too much away, but its clear just how important this episode is to the story. It shows how entire mindsets shift, dynamics change, as well as altering the story just from this one episode. I adore this show and I am so appreciative you guys are here to experience it with me. Love you guys :')) ❤️

For me when I was always watching it is seemed as if katara wanted toph to be more of a team player not doing more of the work That's just how I took it

never understood katara here tbh. i know it might /feel/ weird that 1 of 4 people in a group isnt working communally, but asking someone whos feeding themselves, clothing themselves, sheltering themselves and handling all of their own belongings to also supply work to the communal work pool is essentially demanding they do overtime. 1/4th of the total work + a fourth of the remaining 3/4ths of the work would unfairly burden toph. as the labor is currently split in this episode, its complete nonsense to ask her to pull double duty like that. the actual issue is just inefficiency in the current division of labor. specialization is key. toph opening up to allowing others to cover certain aspect of her traveling needs would let her focus on things she can do instantly like creating stone tents for the whole group while people with vision could forage and do other things instead of fiddling with shelter. time saved overall. no time for that kind of reorganization here though. but yeah. if someone doesnt want to partake in the communal work pool its really none of your business as long as they arent then benefiting from the communal work. cant force someone to do other peoples work for nothing. simple as.

Personally I feel like both Katara and Toph were being immature in that argument. Yet at the same time they both had points, each was coming from their own past experiences. I like that they did end up seeing things from the other’s POV eventually. Iroh is amazing, no? I love how much you love him!

Toph and Iroh are the most enlightened characters in the show. This episode is where I learned that Azula is the real deal. She went after uncle because he was distracted for a second when he realized the stranger he just had tea with is with the Avatar.

Poor zuko, he's so hurt seeing his true father figure getting hurt that he lashes out against his "enemies" even when they want to help him
