The Wolf of Wall Street | Full Length Reaction!

Hey everyone!! 🥰 sorry for the late night/early morning post 😆😆 I hope you’re all having a wonderful day! For today’s video.. I watched… one of the most INSANE movies we have watched up to date… like after the amount of insanity we’ve already gone through on this channel.. this hit a different type for sure LOL

The Wolf of Wall Street was incredibly entertaining, fun, completely unhinged and really made you hate a lot of these people that’s for sure LOL but the writing, storytelling, and the performances… were all absolutely amazing. I WAS IFFY IN THE BEGINNING DUE TO SOME QUESTIONABLE MOMENTS but I quickly warmed up to the film and began to see it for what it was meant to be portrayed. 🥹 and it just made me end up enjoying it that much more.

I hope you guys enjoy this wild ride with me cause I had a BLAST experiencing it. ✨😆🤗

As entertaining as this movie is, I'm in agreement with you on the douchbagery of every person. This is a cautionary tale, yet like Goodfellas, as obvious as that is, people will STILL try to emulate it because in their messed up heads they still think it will be "worth it", or "what a ride though" as if a melodramatic life of going to prison in the end makes for a happy life where people liked you.

It was a joy rewatching that movie with you. I just noticed, that Jordans secretary (or whatever she is, the one who told him to lick her twat :D) played Stormfront in The Boys. If you enjoyed, the documentaryesque elements of the movie, you might also enjoy The Big Short, if you haven't watched it already. It's a really good movie, with great casting and they explain the subprime mortgage crisis very well.

Andrew

Have you watched any Scorsese film? Wolf of Wallstreet, Goodfellas and The Departed "have the same main character and same story"?

Andrew

in case you didnt know: the guy that introduced jordan in the movie at the very end is the REAL jordan belfort on who this movie was based on

Yannik

That beating on the chest thing is something Matthew McConaughey does in real life before scenes to relax himself, when he did it in front of Leo and Scorsese they decided to incorporate it into the movie

Matt

You should check out the show SUCCESSION it has similarities in terms of really despicable wealthy characters you'll hate but somehow still want to root for

Matt

The fame of this film, and Scorsese's ineptitude, is the reason why crypto-currency and NFT propaganda spread like wildfire among the under-educated over these last years.

Scorsese is a terrible director. Its the same character in the same story over and over again. Every movie is about a low-life that thinks he deserves respect because of narcissistic delusions of grandeur. Every female character is treated as an accessory to the main character or is seen as a pathetic caregiver obsessed with thinking the main character is good person deep down and they are the only ones that can see it. They have zero agency without the main character or supporting strong willed male character. Wolf of Wallstreet is suppose to be a satire but Scorsese can't write satire for these characters because he is in love with the lifestyle and perspectives of these garbage characters. He subconsciously wants to live their lives. That's why a movie like Wolf of Wallstreet fails in its message. We are suppose to cast judgement of the main character for his despicable lifestyle, yet at the same time we are suppose to celebrate how clever he is at evading the Securities and Exchange Commission, which are treated as a joke of a regulatory comission. His arrest is portrayed as a minor inconvenience. Yes, the man constructed his own dystopia, but when that dystopia is filled with mansions, yachts, hookers, and trophy wives, should we care? Scorsese wanted to use this film as an opportunity to re-encourage and sanction the lifestyle that many naive and morally adrift fortune-seekers are trying to attain, all in the name of the American Dream. Moreover, the ambiguity in which these crimes are enshrouded further emphasizes the point that Scorsese isn’t concerned with what the crimes are or who they hurt, but rather the kind of lifestyle they enabled. In total, the film further normalizes this type of ravenous anti-social behavior in the eyes of the general public, who already allow wealth-seekers to accumulate sociopathic levels of richness. Also inexcusable was the poor editing. I lost count of the number of times I saw a misplaced arm or water glass. People magically moved two feet in between instantaneous cuts, and one time the mouth movements of a character speaking in profile didn’t match the dialogue. Several of the scenes were drawn out and/or unnecessary. It felt cheap, like Scorsese attempted to turn one of Judd Apatow’s lower comedies into an Oscar flick. The Wolf of Wall Street is not a cautionary tale for would-be brokers. Rather, it’s a shocking example of the catastrophe that results from overblown budgets, blockbuster actors roped into playing despicable characters, and directors who consider themselves above criticism. The mere fact that so many have pointlessly defended the film means that the satire wasn’t successfully achieved.

yeah honestly vicky i don't think anyone took away from the movie was to make their lifestyle seem desirable. You can see how at first jordan is using wall street as a means to an end to get the life for him and his life that he felt they deserved, but he got lost in the sauce and the means to the end became the end, and he just delved into hedonism more and more. The entire time you're kind of reveling in the absurdity but also kind of sick to your stomach at the whole thing, and that's 100% the intention for the storytelling.

Dale Diaz

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. You might be ready.

Brian's Dog

This is a totally nutso movie, but it's so incredibly well made. The performances are just off the charts good.

John Neiberger

How is that garbage lol? I agree that Jordan was a piece of shit but how exactly is the movie garbage? The acting and the way the story unfolds is phenomenal

Mathieu Paquin

I just enjoy how wild this movie is because you follow these terrible people doing awful and insane things and you are just waiting for it all to blow up in their face and eventually get caught. Also the acting in this movie was amazing which is pretty expected by Scorcese films.

BLGFish

The Departed as well!

Mathieu Paquin

I loved your reaction! It is always interesting how other reactors react to this movie, cause there are a lot of female reactors who still adore / fall for the character Jordan depicted here. And I mean it's all their decision, but I really loved seeing your reaction. I guess because it aligns more with my views :) You could have your fun with the movie and so did I, but there is an important of distinction of laughing about the actual reality behind it or how the movie depicts it :D Actually had a seminar in school where I analyzed the depictions of drug usage together with a friend. He had the serious and horrible movies like Requiem for a dream and I analyzed this one and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. In short: honestly love your reactions!

KaffeeKind

Yessss so pumped to watch this!!!

LadyFinger

Another great Martin Scorsese film with Leonardo DiCaprio you should check out Killers Of The Flower Moon, thanks for the reaction V cant wait to check it out 😊

Matt

I really like this movie, not because I like any of the characters but because in spite of that it’s still a fun watch which is what good storytelling is about IMO.

kways

Whelp, not watching that garbage.

Raptor

My insomnia thanks you :)
