I love eating meat. Every time I see a vegan I increase my consumption. I, however, do prefer my meat not wriggling when on the plate.

I would recommend watching Dominion on YouTube, it's difficult to watch but I think the animals at least deserve the respect of you bearing witness to what you pay for. I can see the compassion and empathy you have for other sentient beings, all you need to do is align your actions with your beliefs and live vegan.

2024-06-16 10:48:37 +0000 UTCYes, this was a hard episode. I equate this to what people living or working under someone with narcissistic psychopathic tenancies is like. Its terror, its living in pure terror and having to keep your head down and just survive, which includes repressing those survival instincts that could get you harmed by those terrorizing you. And there is a reason the armed forces don't let untrained people on any military installation, right? Lol. But that is what this show tells us about our superheroes if they really existed. They're adult toddlers, nearly impossible to discipline. Like the heroes we tend to love almost always start out as ordinary humans and understand what its like to live with other humans. But born powerful, corporate sponsors, ad companies controlling what you say and do. This is inhumane and there are people that love it. The show is holding up a mirror to our behavior in society, to our hero/celebrity worship and our obsession with distraction 2 things, first, the actor for Soldier Boy is Jensen Ackles, who is fantastic in this, lol. You know he just had just tons of fun with this role; and B, the word you're looking for is 'desensitized'. You are becoming desensitized to real life for some people. Granted, these shows crank it up to eleven and most people going through these types of things rarely experience all of it at the same time as we see in these shows but that doesn't make it any less traumatizing. You did good, V. You got through without vomiting. I can't tell you if gets easier or harder because spoilers but we got some rough and great episodes coming, lol.

Maybe it's because I'm not from America where these pageants are a lot less common but I think beauty pageants are already kind of weird and demeaning even when they involve adults but adults can obviously do as they like. But with children, urgh. And the way they portrayed it is actually harmless in comparison, have you seen what they make little girls wear at actual pageants? The sexualization is a lot more explicit than we see with Starlight here.
