2024-05-18 22:01:25 +0000 UTCInside Out 2 comes out June 14th so it will be awhile before we can watch it with you here. So, for my emotional core, lol, I was at a group therapy session with my friend that I help and they did an "ice breaker" thing of going around the room and asking everyone which cartoon character they identify with. Lol, I had no idea who to think of but a lot of people started focusing on Winnie the Pooh characters and saying "Tigger", a lot, lol. So I decided to stick with the theme but was the only one there that said "Eeyore", lol. I've always been a deep reflective thinker/philosopher that loves rainy days. Acknowledging my sadness and depression and exhaustion relaxes me. Sea shanties and the Blues are my favorite genres of music. They say depressed people have a better grasp of reality and consequences and I definitely feel that. But my training says that is confirmation bias, which is also true, lol. Big dark and self-depreciating humor fan. The thing is that I am happy with this because I have found out how to see the beauty in the darker realities of life. The silver linings of the rain clouds. I feel an understanding with the choices of humanity. I don't agree with many of them, but I get it, you know. I don't like ignoring things or feelings just so everyone can have a good time, very much. I've done it just as much as anyone else in life but I know now that ain't me. So I'm a Eeyore, lol.

2024-05-16 22:43:02 +0000 UTCEmpathy. Often, the driving force of empathy is sadness. Vee, remember when I said about the desperate seek for happiness? The desperation of Joy of always being happy and never sad is what led Raley to almost run away, go into depression, and become assentient. Pure joy is inconsequential; it needs fear to be careful, sadness to contain ourselves, reflect and accept and understand the changes in our lives, disgust to not be naive, and anger to impose itself. In the same way, pure sadness freezes and blinds us. "In our culture, we have a certain repulsion towards sadness, but it is a powerful trigger for us to seek comfort and union." This is what animation psychology consultant Professor Dacher Keltner says. We cannot let ourselves be wholly carried away by one of our emotions. Otherwise, it becomes a mental illness (for real). We can't seek happiness desperately; if we do, we only get desperation. Happiness happens naturally together with other emotions as a consequence of accepting life as an incredible and challenging journey. In this journey, we can't be afraid of changes or to decide to make changes. That is one of the things the animation wants to show.

2024-05-14 18:11:49 +0000 UTCInside out is easily one of my top 3 favorites with Tangled and Zootopia. It hits really hard when you actually went through something at that age, 11/12 and wished this was around. Anyways, I won't even be mad if you wanna catch the film in cinema, but I will definitely look forward to watching this with you here (: There's a ton of details when re-watching this. The emotions are really a reflection of what Riley is thinking and feeling at those times. And you can see how Riley's emotion wrestle for control when dealing with events, like a teenager would. Whereas the parents emotions are restrained and talk about the best actions. You can also glimpse the short=term memories of Riley's mom and see that she isn't having a happy time about the move either.

2024-05-14 06:04:22 +0000 UTCAs someone who has a problem suppressing emotions, the part when Joy tries to contain sadness and push her aside really hits home. This movie is absolutely great and I love watching it every once in a while to remind myself that it's okay to feel feelings. I'm glad you liked it 😁
