Jimmy definitely has self-esteem issues with Kim (who wouldn't, she's magnificent!!!) and always wants to please her as deep down he does indeed think he isn't good enough for her. And by him not contributing to their agreed law partnership just now without diving into his saving, that he knows she thinks thats what he's doing, is pushing him into a darker place. And with her bringing up Chuck, that only adds fuel to the fire as he feels he is only in this position because of his brother - hence the theatrics at the insurance at the end.

2024-12-22 05:03:46 +0000 UTCYeah Jimmy has become embittered after the trial, even though he got off lightly. However as we see this episode, he's in a bad place and nothing is going right for him, and he blames it all on Chuck. The bar scene is showing where his headspace is in, as the guy disrespecting the waiter, is akin to Chuck in Jimmy's eyes, and we see the hatred he has brewing up in him now. So he goes to his insurance for two purposes, to get a refund if possible, and to throw Chuck under the bus. Not cool.

2024-05-13 00:23:00 +0000 UTCTo the people saying Jimmy was sincere at first with the insurance lady at first and it turned halfway through, I don't think so. It all seemed very orchestrated to me. I think he must have known that he wouldn't be able to "persuade" her into refunding him or something like that, like that random operator obviously can't just do that, especially after they've been so obstinate over the phone. I know he thinks he's a great salesman (and he is) but even he must know that that's a wasted effort at this point. Plus, him conveniently "forgetting" his policy number and then only telling her his last name so that Chuck would pop up on her screen, so she already knows he's talking about a lawyer that they insure later on in his breakdown. And the crying seemed a little too emotionally honest to just burst out like that, he can't even do that with Kim, has to constantly put up a facade, why would he suddenly open up to this random insurance lady? Also, saying his "gal is disappointed" in him seemed very weirdly put, kind of out of character, and also just plain wrong, I don't think Kim is disappointed in him and I don't think Jimmy thinks that; I do think he feels like he doesn't "deserve" her in some regard, like he isn't good enough for her, but I don't think he thinks she's "disappointed" in him. I think what happened is that when they were in the bar, Kim put some doubt into Jimmy about their actions against Chuck. Kim is obviously starting to feel guilty after their confrontation with Rebecca. But Jimmy doesn't want to feel guilty about Chuck, doesn't want to admit to himself that they may not have been wholly the good guys there. He's always seen himself as the underdog, the one that goes against the grain and he despises fancy, arrogant, rich, privileged people and so wants to feel superior to them and wants to think of them as purely evil. It also explains his dislike of Howard even after it was made clear to him that Howard never did anything to Jimmy. So Kim putting those doubts in him, was unacceptable to him, emotionally speaking, so he had to double down, rub it in Chuck's face and kick him while he's down because he needs to feel like everything that they did was 100% right.

2024-05-12 14:49:40 +0000 UTCThat scene with Nacho when doing the deal with Mike. It's one of my favorite lines from Nacho- "I'm not GETTING into anything; I'm IN it. I have no choice." I always felt bad for Nacho. He's stuck. He had to do something.

2024-05-12 03:20:22 +0000 UTCThrough all the puffiness, still a great reaction. Still team Jimmy here. They shouldn't feel bad about what they did to Chuck. He has brought all this on himself. His attitude towards Jimmy. Mesa Verde. Sorry Chuck 😁

2024-05-12 03:06:23 +0000 UTCSo Vicky. That scene was twofold: Jimmy is seeing all this opportunity for money that he could easily get. People he hates, doing better than him in life, holding onto money that he needs more. He's just thinking out loud how easy it would be to take down that one guy - on top of that (in his head) he's thinking that he could get himself out of the money problem so easily if he just let loose. The second wrinkle is that kim gained deeper insight to the extent of what jimmy is capable. Prior to the hearing she has only seen jimmy use his talents for essentially playful pranks and being "clever" with the law. Now she's in the middle of an internal struggle realizing that she helped Jimmy really hurt Chuck with his talents. On top of that, when they were at the bar, Kim saw that there can be a darkness and Danger to Jimmy's proclivities, so she's struggling with her perception of jimmy, of herself, etc. tha'ts why she almost said something - i think she wanted clarity on his intentions with what he did with chuck - but she stopped herself because she didn't want to make fresh wounds bleed. That's what I took from it

2024-05-12 01:56:31 +0000 UTCJimmy wasn't wrong in letting the insurance know Chuck's condition. Chuck would've done the same in another way. After all, the law is too important. 😏 Anyway, If you trace back Jimmy's motivation to why he decided to screw with Chuck some more, it's because Chuck cost Jimmy his practice which is his bread and butter, he's having financial issues due to the suspension and now finding out that his Insurance premiums would go up 150%, that was just the last straw... The only thing I blame Jimmy for, is him not being able to swallow his pride, break his lease, and eat the loss of his malpractice insurance, his commercial time, and just call it even with Chuck. I don't blame him for what happened in court, Jimmy had no choice but to defend himself. The Insurance thing however was pure revenge.

2024-05-11 23:12:20 +0000 UTCI agree. Jimmy has been stewing over what he’s going through the whole episode; blaming Chuck for all of it. That play at the end is just a moment of convenience. He realizes how easy it would be to make Chuck’s life hard in the same way and he just does it out of spite.

2024-05-11 23:10:03 +0000 UTCI love the last scene. I'm still not sure, but I don't think Jimmy went there with the intention to sell Chuck down the river from the get-go. I even think the first tear was probably genuine as the full ramifications began to sink in, but as soon as he started the monologue he knew what he was going to do.

2024-05-11 21:16:37 +0000 UTCI think Jimmy was actually genuine when he started crying but halfway through he realized he could take advantage of the situation. One of my favorite moments of the show.
