SEASON 2 FINALE OF BETTER CALL SAUL HERE.... and all I have to say is:

I AM BEYOND SHOCKED... BUT SOMEHOW NOT EVEN SURPRISED (UGH) THATS ALL IM GONNA SAY...... let me know how you guys took that moment 🥲

Comments

No he didn't. He got Jimmy out of jail, moved him to ABQ for a fresh start, set him up in the mail room at his firm; we also see him cover up Jimmy as he lies down drunk on his couch in the early episodes, and does the same later in a flashback; so he does love his brother, he just feels Jimmy gets all the plaudits despite being a wrong 'un, and he gets the square root of eff all because he's not as charming as his brother. Then we even see here in the opener of this ep, that his mother's last words calling out, weren't to him, the responsible son; but to the criminal one, the brother who isn't even around at her final moments. Lorenzo above is correct. Thats the genius of the writing however; we laud the guy who is the crook, who does some iffy to bad deeds; yet get on to his brother for calling him out on it.

Saltire

They aren't brothers for nothing. Equally as conniving when they want to be.

Saltire

Yeah season 3 is BCS's best season imo.

Saltire

Ah doing an Ernesto and completely glossing over that Chuck is in his condition and goes through all this because Jimmy is a "jerk"? Of course, because guess what, he's our loveable Jimmy, the guy who just testified to a felony to screw over his brother; but because Chuck sees through him, and is equally as conniving, he's the bad guy. You've drew your line in the sand, thats cool, Jimmy puts the wool over everyone's eyes. He's not quite Walter White, but Jimmy is just as selfish... And what would you think the mother and father would think of the light of their eyes, the son who is happy to embezzle, defraud, con people, go on vendettas, enable drug kingpins, nudge them to kill others... Yeah. But Chuck is a rotter though, amirite? ;)

Saltire

But Chuck always treated Jimmy like crap

Deychen

so excited for season 3 things start to really ramp up and sh*t starts getting real looking forward to more amazing reactions

Aubree Cummins

For sure! Puts into perspective why Nacho was so annoyed with mike because he was making trouble and putting them both at risk for someone (from his perspective) was dead the moment he got robbed

Dale Diaz

Makes perfect sense, just sad to still think about:((

VKunia

IT'S SO ROUGHHHH I'm scared to see what's coming next... and I have a feeling I'm going to uncover more about Chuck that'll make me sympathetic towards him... but I'll stay mad because he's mean to Jimmy 😭 I'm too soft for this LOL

VKunia

I continue to love your reactions. Yes, Chuck is the worst, but there is so much more to come. I can't wait till you start Season 3.

Thaddeus Winterson

about the truck driver vicky. it's too suspicious from the cartels perspective. if the truck was ripped off, to them it means someone from the drug game hit them because they knew about the tires, and like nacho said, nobody in the game would have left him alive, unless he was in on it. That's why they were getting rid of him

Dale Diaz

Omg..... I'm nervous... but excited to see where this goes..... :')

VKunia

LMAO

VKunia

That last bit made me think of WEEDS, Elizabeth Perkins' character Celia shaming Allie Grant's character Isabelle ("Isabelly!"). And Celia got it from *her* mom. I agree with pretty much all you said, but ofc the reality of old tape recorder condenser microphones will be ignored. This is TV we're talkin' 'bout. :D

MertzRocks

V, Willow you guys know he has a tiny role in Spiderman Homecoming yes? He's one of Toomes' / Vulture's buyers for the alien tech, and they are in the end-credit prison scene together. I haven't got far enough to know if Michael Mando comes back in a future MCU movie or show.

MertzRocks

thats why we call him Bronesto

Hunter2

The rivalry only heats up from here. They do a good job here pulling your emotions one way only to yank them right back. Some really good episodes coming up.

jeremykg14

It's been really cool watching the first two seasons with you, seeing your thoughts and interpretations of the show so far. Also; I don't remember who it was and I feel dumb I didn't think of this sooner but whoever recommended the picture-in-picture feature I just wanna say thank you! Looking forward to Season 3! See you all there.

WarriorPoet1980

They did really well in this episode to get us to sympathize with Chuck riiiight up until the reveal xD that really was Chuck at his most manipulative, his most indefensible. And all the effort he put into it. Jeez, that was a Saul-level stunt.

Christophe

Lol I normally agree but in this case, that was a really dirty trick by Chuck

Christophe

Oh, that ending was amazing. You spent a good 10 minutes going on about 'poor Chuck', 'Oh, it hit him so hard', nearly had tears in your eyes for Chuck. And then the reveal happened. Hahahaha. I could not stop laughing at how mad you were. You honestly felt betrayed by Chuck. It was amazing!

TGrimace

I really hope she doesn't do this, I don't want it spoiled

So, speaking in terms of the reality of the law, Jimmy should be okay. Audio recordings are not admissible because of numerous reasons but mainly because its not enough. People casually speak in all kinds of ways and casual conversation is not proof. Additionally, idk Arizona law on this particular issue but, in many states, all audio recordings of individuals require consent. You are not allowed to secretly record someone then use that recording, legally, against them. Furthermore, the confession was obtained through coercion. Chuck used Jimmy's concern for his well-being to trick him into a confession. Which is also not admissible because Jimmy not only has a reputation as having a silver tongue but one in which he will say anything to make his brother feel better. Lastly, those recording devices can't have the speakers/mic covered up because they are very bad at any audio recording that isn't spoken directly into a compatible mic. IRL, I bet that thing only recorded muffled yelling from Jimmy's voice and nothing Chuck said. NOW, will the tv show be accurate to IRL stuff. Lol, probably not. I bet Chuck's condition has a lot to do with his resentment but also his repression for forgiving and loving his brother. Chuck flat refuses to forgive Jimmy and that refusal is eating him up so much that "energy" tortures him. And what else is Jimmy but a big ol' ball of energy, lol. No but seriously, I think Chuck's refusal to love his brother unconditionally is why this condition persists. Chuck is so full of resentment that he actually believes punishing his brother means he cares about him. Like an absent dad taking credit for his kids turning out all right after he abandons his family. Or one of those over-bearing mothers that thinks pointing out every tiny flaw or ounce of weight gain is "helping". Or just body/fat shamers in general that believe shaming and bullying are a public service.

It's really weird how you villainize Chuck and try to make Jimmy the hero when Jimmy is the liar who goes out of his way to purposefully sabotage his brother. Chuck isn't crazy at all. He has some issues that aren't dealt with, both internally and against Jimmy. But Chuck was literally right. We don't praise people who do bad things like come on 😅 Chuck called it and everyone tries to make him out to be the bad one. Chuck isn't innocent, but my god, we're blaming the wrong person here. Yeah, Jimmy was there for Chuck. But we aren't gonna throw around words like abuse with Chuck being a perpetrator. That is way off the rocker of how this actually is. The real answer is there's blame and problems on both sides. Jimmy has already begun in going out of his way to scheme and manipulate. His honest work has already stopped happening.

Lorenzo Baxter

In an interview, Michael McKean (Chuck's actor) summed up Chuck's feelings towards Jimmy as, "I could make my mom proud, but Jimmy could make her laugh". Also, in my opinion your takes have been pretty spot on so far lol. Haters gonna hate ✌🏻

Zack

Chuck...he's a snake!!!

David Cansler

About Nacho, I totally get it. He's such a cutie. ^^

Willow McPhie

A note from the writers that Michael McKean (Chuck) used to shape his character was the following: "Chuck made mom proud, but Jimmy made her laugh." I think that greatly explains his vindictive nature against Jimmy in particular, as we also see his jealousy of Jimmy's wit and charm when we met Rebecca. Not only that but he doesn't like how, using that, Jimmy is able to be in the same world as him (law) when he's committed his entire life to the profession and he's quite a snob in that regard. Jimmy did "ratfuck" him. He did sabotage him illegally. Jimmy was wrong to do that because that's not how you're meant to win a client back. But at the same time, the only reason Chuck put the hard sell onto Kevin at Mesa Verde is because Kim was working in tandem with Jimmy. That was, whilst legal, a spiteful dick move. Everything is complicated. Everyone is in the wrong. But yeah, Chuck has certainly exposed himself as Jimmy's active antagonist now! Also, not to forget - The note on Mike's car!! Looking forward to meeting whoever can track Mike undetected! New serious player in town! :D Looking forward to S3! Oh and if you don't mind me saying, I thought you looked very radiant in this reaction :) loved the orange dress - very Saul :'D

Max Hassam

ok that's actually insane lmao

vSoulreaver

Chuck played Jimmy like a violin…again.

Tim Martin

Joe
