Black Noir's nut allergy was not actually in the original script. Nathan Mitchell (who plays Noir) has an extremely severe nut allergy in real life, to the extent that he can't even be in the same room with someone eating them. Whenever he's on a plane, they have to announce to everybody on his behalf not to open any nut-based products. After season 1, the cast was flying around a lot together for various media events, so they had to sit through many such announcements. Karl Urban (Butcher) found it hilarious and joked that nuts should be Noir's kryptonite. Eric Kripke ended up loving the idea and subsequently wrote it into season 2.

He grew up isolated from the world and he knows it screwed him up. homelander knows that he has problems maintaining relationships with people because he was never properly socialized and he also built up a resentment for people. He's a huge POS but he does want what he sees as what's best for Ryan. That's why he acquiesced to the mom's demands. His whole effed up relationship with madelyn stillwell was a result of him trying to use her to replace the mother he never had. At some level homelander knows he'd be a better person if he had a mom and a dad and a real childhood. That's also why homelander freaked the eff out when they put his childhood blanket on his fake bed when he was telling the fake story for the news. The blanket is the only real aspect of his childhood - the only real comfort he had, and he was pissed because vought was tainting it by including it in the lie he's a huge POS and shouldn't be anywhere near ryan but he has very human and sincere motivations

I've known guys like Lamplighter, guys that can't open up to others until they watch porn with you. It stems from male emotional repression and not being able to trust until you both do something intimate together, but not to each other. The old gender stereotypes that men aren't emotional, they're physical (of course BS) so they can only communicate emotion through physicals acts of vulnerability, like a bunch of dudes sitting around getting erections, lol, you know, bonding, lol. Its usually very innocent (as in usually no ulterior motives) and a form of trust exercise, sort of like creating a locker room (safe space) for dudes to be dudes and feel free to talk about dude things from a dude perspective without non-dudes judging them, lol. Doesn't excuse who Lamplighter is, just explaining him. We do get a little background on Black Noir eventually so just keep watching away. Just wait until you find out who the head popper is. Remember there is a spin-off series Gen V (after season 3 of The Boys). Only 1 season (but it did get greenlit for season 2) but it looks like it will have some crossover with The Boys season 4.
