2024-03-08 17:34:48 +0000 UTCRemember when historia got shoved by her mom and bled but was SO happy that her mom interacted with her? I feel like that’s a less extreme version of what’s going on. It’s all she’s ever gotten

2024-03-07 17:12:00 +0000 UTCExactly, the thought/awareness never occurred to her. Of course in a way less extreme context, I see similarities in my childhood self and Ymir. I was well behaved, too empathetic, and prioritized others' feelings and requests, especially adults/authority. It truly never occurred to me that I could choose to act otherwise until I got older and learned from experience. Ymir's fate is especially sad because in her role as a slave since childhood until death, she never had the chance to be exposed to any meaningful learning experiences. Whereas if we look at characters like Reiner, Gabi, and Historia, we can clearly see what changed their brainwashed and early outlooks in life. Reiner saw himself in Eren despite the latter being an 'island devil,' the first step in his traumatic journey of realizing everyone is just a person. Gabi had a similarly traumatic sequence of events to come to the same realization. Historia met and connected to Ymir (the Scout's Ymir) as they had a lot in common, and Ymir encouraged her to "live for yourself." Isayama is such an incredible writer!

2024-03-07 12:06:25 +0000 UTCDespite the ending being anything but funny I couldn't help but laugh when you hinted at admitting "world domination" is your copium phrasing of mass genocide haha

2024-03-07 11:37:16 +0000 UTCAt first I couldn't understand why Ymir would go back to Fritz and continue to obey him after everything he took from her. But the more I rewatch these scenes, the more I realize how helpless she was. She was born into poverty and became a slave since childhood. All she ever knew was to be obedient and take orders. She never had a will of her own because she never thought she could, until Eren changed that.

2024-03-07 10:45:32 +0000 UTC"So Eren's goal is world domination" NO! Eren's goal is global genocide outside of Paradis. And while there are only a couple episodes left you have to believe me when I say that Hajime Isayama is going to go even HARDER with these last episodes including the 2 special episodes which hit the hardest. P.S. It's kind of cool how Hajime Isayama made reference to the first episode in season 1 which was titled "To You, 2,000 Years in the Future - The Fall of Zhinganshina". Also Ymir has only "existed" relative to 2,000 years in real world time but in the Coordinate plane of existence she has been there for an eternity. She has been building and forming every Titan as the Titan holders change into them in the real world. In short, for her a real world second is several hundred years in the Coordinate plane of existence. So 2,000 real world years is essentially an eternity of endless time.

2024-03-07 01:16:06 +0000 UTCI rewatched it 3 times but gave up sharing my thoughts on Ymir's part. Rewatching, I noticed more things that fit what I had suspected. There came a point where I realized that the matter was much more than that. It is current, very serious, and extremely heavy. It's a tremendous surprise for me. So I'll hold for now. From what we saw, the power of the Titans originates from some being; it is not something divine, not diabolical. Seems to be a "biological mystery". Marley was wrong, Eldians restorationists was wrong. Ironically, Ymir was enslaved by Eldia, and the island's radicals are proud to be Eldian and of the Eldia Empire... About Eren. This is it! Uau! He is the Agatha of the anime. I think Vee said that in the previous episode. LOL I have been sad and disappointed with Eren since the Hammer Titan episode (I always say that). Now, there is an aggravating factor: previously, the numb, cold, and enigmatic Eren now shows himself to be a machine driven by hate; he will make the story told in the books that Erwin talked about so much come true. And where is LEVI AND HANGE?!?! LMAO P.S. I'm disappointed with Armin. For some time now, he has also only seen war as a way out; even if on a "smaller scale" ("only" Marley), it is still war, it is still genocide.

2024-03-07 00:26:14 +0000 UTCEren gotta go. He's been losing his mind for a while, and now, after literally losing his mind, it's completely gone. Also, we don't mind your rambling, as long as you're not RUMbling! RUMbling!

2024-03-07 00:02:24 +0000 UTCI just watched the episode, and I think there are gaps and essential things shown very subtly about Ymir. For example, before she's been captured, Ymir already had no expression on her face. I'll rewatch the episode and then share my thoughts, focusing on Ymir and Eren.

2024-03-06 21:42:50 +0000 UTCyou can now understand the opening a bit better and why it's called "The Rumbling" :D Also Ymir's village being raided even if it's just a regular one wasn't something out of the ordinary in older times, the more lands you could conquer, the more slaves you'd get, the better and yeah, people were treated as slaves and their lives had no value (except free labor or entertainment). Also, King Fritz having his 3 daughters eat her is rough but also he had no clue how the titan power worked, he just assumed they would be the best suited and didn't want to loose such immense power and thus his kingdom (the same as Marley if you recall early in the season - they raided Paradise to get the Founding Titan so they would have overwhelming power over the other nations)

2024-03-06 20:54:31 +0000 UTCI'm still so shocked at how massive that thing is at the end... what a GOATED anime. Was super hyped for your reaction and it's epic that you've got this far through the show!

2024-03-06 20:45:42 +0000 UTCThis world is cruel but I still love you. Even if I sacrifice everything, I will protect you. The shadow of the person whom I chose, the corpse of what I threw. I noticed that what is growing inside me is the child of evil. Behind justice, inside of sacrifice, there is a child of evil inside my heart. /Some lyrics from the closing song

2024-03-06 18:13:28 +0000 UTCInformation available for public disclosure: The Origin of Titans According to legend, the Founder Ymir obtained the Power of the Titans when coming into contact with "something." For generations, her blood and power were passed down by the Eldians. However, the identity of that "something" which began it all remains unknown. It may have been some type of pathogenic parasite, a god who pitied the Founder Ymir and gave her power, or something else entirely.

2024-03-06 17:14:55 +0000 UTCDefinitely a crazy episode! It was nice to finally get Ymir’s backstory though, right? And to see where and how Titans began? You’re in the final stretch now, still a lot to come but I can’t believe we’re nearing the end. I enjoy your reactions so much. 😊

2024-03-06 16:53:15 +0000 UTCThe title of this episode is the opposite of the first episode of season one "To you 2000 years from now"
