Update on the Last Poll
Added 2023-10-26 18:15:06 +0000 UTCSo I've been seeing people being upset that Sixth Sense is on the poll because it's a "different type" of horror. When I make these polls, I try not to research too much to avoid spoilers and sixth sense showed up on a lot of "Horror" movie polls. Now is it a horror like "The Descent" or "Event Horizon"? I'm not entirely sure but from reading your comments, it is not. I apologize :(
So to make it up, I will watch BOTH Sixth Sense & the SECOND most upvoted movie! From the looks of it, it is Event Horizon currently! So if you want to switch your votes after this, be my guest!

Night Shyamalan spent the rest of his career trying to copy/live up to...So you get an idea of the style. Perfect for chickens, and just perfect to begin with.

That said, I definitely don't blame Vee for throwing it in the horror genre when she's been told as much. And again, I just agreed with everything he said in his reply on this particular thread and see no need to repeat it.

Simply calling it a horror film shouldn't be that triggering, then again, people these days get super upset over any type of identifying lmao It's an amazing film nonetheless. One of M Night shamaymalsann's best. It scared the sh*t out of me when I was younger ๐

Besides, I knew it would be something you would like and I think the majority will agree on that. So, I wouldn't take any criticism to heart.

2023-10-26 20:06:35 +0000 UTCWho cares if it's not spooky horror, it's a suspense and thriller, fine for Halloween, spooky season doesn't need to be about slashers only, but all kinds of spooky sci-fi... it won by a landslide so obviously people weren't that upset it was on there. just people upset their favorite didn't win. lol no need to apologize, I think most of us would rather an oddball make it into a poll than have you researching too much and spoiling the plot to a movie they recommended and wanted to surprise you with.

Only two people complained. Vee shouldn't of needed to make this update. Vee you have nothing to apologise for at all. People just upset their movie didn't win. The minority complainers have the loudest mouths it seems. Thanks vee for doing the best you can to put together the best polls for us. Sixth Sense is just as good of a horror as any. ๐

Like you said, you can't appease everyone. But from a numbers standpoint, you're going to appease a lot more people with popular movies rather than cult films like Event Horizon.

Also the fact that it won shows that most people who voted werenโt surprised either so youโve got nothing to apologise for. I voted for The Omen but thatโs just because itโs one of my favourite films ever but in all honesty The Sixth Sense will get you more views. You canโt please everyone so donโt worry about it. Yeah donโt look up the films and get spoiled because then your reactions wouldnโt be as good so just keep doing what youโre doing, no need to change.

A lot of these movies are never going to get watched when you throw a super popular movie like Sixth Sense into the mix alongside them. We'd have likely had to wait an entire year to get another chance at a horror movie like Event Horizon (and others) if she didn't decide to watch the 2nd place winner as well. Obviously there's only so much she can do and can't please everyone, but I and I'm sure many others appreciate that she's going the extra mile on this one.

Wow, Event Horizon and Sixth Sense as a double feature finale to this month! That is an odd pairing but honestly, quite the mental gauntlet of psychological attacks with these two combined. My recommendation is to watch Sixth Sense first. Watching Event Horizon then Sixth Sense might cause Sixth Sense to not have the impact its intended to have after the nightmare that Event Horizon is, lol. Sixth Sense is a slow burn like all M. Night Shyamalan films. Event Horizon is right up in your face with the horror and terror. Then you can go touch grass to calm down. Flip them and you might be just too exhausted, mentally, to sit through Sixth Sense.

2023-10-26 18:23:56 +0000 UTCThe Devil's Advocate is like Sixth Sense too, in that horror is a theme but they are dramatic thrillers, all about mystery and intrigue. Love them. "Classic" can be like those or it could be a traditional Slasher movie. Glad Event Horizon won as its probably the best sci-fi space horror movie since Alien.
