2023-09-12 00:18:54 +0000 UTCThis was a fun reaction. The Kill Bill films are extremely watchable. On this watch I noticed how disgusted Budd was with other guy burying Beatrix alive. It’s a good little actor moment. There is a Ryan Reynolds movie called Buried which takes place entirely in a coffin. I don’t recommend it for reaction purposes but it’s quite well done. A movie that would be a good reaction (if you haven’t seen it) is Battle Royale which stars the girl who plays Gogo in Kill Bill 1. It’s basically Hunger Games meets Lord of the Flies and it is dark and bloody and hilarious.

I like the Beatrice vs Elle fight because it was close quarters, and the characters had to improvise weapons and attacks based on the confined space and all of the things IN that space. Dunno if you recognized the doubling up with 2 of the actors: Johnny Moe was Pai Mai (actor: Gordon Lui) and Sheriff McGraw was Estaban Vihaio (actor: Michael Parks). I generally don't consider myself to be claustrophobic but the scene where Thurman is in the coffin gives me major anxiety every time I see it. One of the things that DOES irritate me to NO END is the FACT that at the end of the story, Beatrice SHOULD have 4 hanzo swords and 1 million dollars of folding money. WHY in the world you leave such obvious tangible treasure behind??? makes no sense to me. I would like to suggest a few films for you to consider: Get Shorty and Be Cool, 2 films that are sort of a duology and sort of not (which reminds me, if you haven't watched A Fish Called Wanda and it's quasi-semi-sort-of-sequel Fierce Creatures, you are REALLY missing out.....) Get Shorty has John Travolta in the lead role as gangster trying to find a new line of work, with a nice ensemble cast to assist. Be Cool is the continuation of that story and Uma Thurman is one of the leads along with Travolta. And lastly, if you haven't watched the thriller Megan, I would strongly recommend it. I do believe you will enjoy that one very much.

2023-09-11 04:06:25 +0000 UTCThe scene in question is not obvious on rewatch, but when she is headed to Bill and is driving on the 1 lane road in that weird small car. That scene was real and she was driving at like 40-50 MPH in that car for the scene but the car was not safe at all. The road was incredibly dangerous and she even crashed and got very injured. Tarantino did not show any sympathy at the time and they kept the footage from her, which would have exposed how dangerous it was. It hurt their relationship for years. Also he spit on her when it was budd and choked her for the scene.
