🏵️Comedy/Light hearted Film Poll!🏵️
Added 2023-08-16 20:58:09 +0000 UTCHey guys! This is a bit more of a light-hearted poll than I usually do, its mainly comedy and a lot of these films can be deemed on opposing sides of the genre - but this is such a vast category so we'll see how we do with certain movies! I've been having a lot of fun with the most recent comedies that I've grown up and missed out on 😊
I was thinking of throwing Austin Powers on here but I'm worried it would destroy the poll but so rather than throw it in I'd love to hear whether that's something you'd be interested in me watching hehe :)
Also please note: Each movie is different and don't forget to be respectful in the comments! Expressing opinions in a respectful manner is possible and remember rudeness will not be tolerated, this a feel good place so please respect each other and the poll!!! Just cause a movie you don't like is on the poll doesn't mean you have to hate! So be nice pls :)
Recommendations are always accepted and appreciated!! I took your recommendations for the last poll and will be altering and changing up the next main one :) we're out here adapting with each poll! So feel free to be a part of it! I love it when you guys are 🥰 I hope you're enjoying your spring, please stay safe and healthy friends 🌸🎐💐
*reposting poll so everyone can choose more than one option!

True it’s my only pick on the this list.
2023-08-20 23:20:42 +0000 UTCHA! Even Rotten Tomatoes doesn't agree with you, lol. Clerks, alone, knocks Superbad's dick in the dirt! lol

2023-08-18 05:02:37 +0000 UTCEric, I was speaking of older in the context of this list, not film in general. I've got a degree in film studies, don't worry, I know what old cinema is. (Also, League of Their Own is from '92 😉)

2023-08-18 01:10:05 +0000 UTCA League of Their Own isn't going to win this time but it is something you would enjoy.

2023-08-17 23:06:03 +0000 UTCI'm going to say maybe The Hot Chick (2002) belongs on this list. It seems like a diverse list of comedies but trending toward Hot Chick territory maybe. Introducing Rachel McAdams.

2023-08-17 17:42:59 +0000 UTCI have only seen half of these... mmm, I've seen 5? Just one more and it will be half of the list! I'm assuming Encanto is good so that makes my 6th pretend-correct opinion. But this means I haven't seen half of them which means the value of my vote will be mediocre at best 🙂😄 lol

2023-08-17 17:28:13 +0000 UTCAmerican pie is old and It did'nt age welm

2023-08-17 16:06:05 +0000 UTC“Older” comedies?? League of Their Own is from 1988, and it’s the only watchable one on the list! Don’t worry, it’s got sound. 🙄

2023-08-17 14:47:20 +0000 UTCI'm worried about how some of these older comedies hold up after the years. Especially comedies of the raunchy variety. Encanto may be fun, but that damn movie makes me tear up every time.

2023-08-17 03:33:06 +0000 UTCLá Lá Land Its not quite a light hearted movie, it is a lot of fun but also carries a lot of emotional plot

2023-08-17 01:40:47 +0000 UTCAs much as I’d love to see V react to Clerks, I don’t know if she’s ready to be pulled into the View Askewniverse just yet, lol.

2023-08-17 01:32:31 +0000 UTCLight hearted film? Shanghai Noon.

2023-08-17 00:19:50 +0000 UTCI picked Encanto— I didn’t much care for it’s lack of story, 20’s-Disney non-villain or 100% singing-exposition songs, but at least it’s not a 00’s-10’s weed/bro comedy from people who only know movies they lived to see in theaters, and doesn’t have Will Ferrell in it.

2023-08-16 23:50:53 +0000 UTCAmerican Pie didn't age well 😂

2023-08-16 23:05:18 +0000 UTCMight I suggest "What's Up, Doc?" (1972), starring Barbra Streisand as Judy, who meets the man of her dreams in a hotel souvenir shop, only he is currently engaged to a person named Eunice. It is a tribute to screwball comedies of the 1930s and '40s. Filmed mostly on location in San Francisco, including a wacky chase that is a nod to "Bullitt" (1969).

2023-08-16 22:59:17 +0000 UTCA league of their own, 10000% absolutely. You will adore it, you'll find it so inspiring and uplifting.

2023-08-16 22:27:59 +0000 UTCThis might be a little too different, but Instant Family is a must watch (imo) at some point. It's definitely really funny, but also it also has an emotional component to it too (in a good way though 😂). I guess it's not too light-hearted though lol, but still worth a watch at some point.

2023-08-16 22:17:38 +0000 UTCKill Bill 2 is going to be so fun when you do it :)

2023-08-16 21:57:29 +0000 UTCAs a baseball person, A League of their Own is one of the top baseball movies ever and you will absolutely love it. But I also had to vote for Eurotrip, a stupid-comedy comedy that absolutely outperforms any and all expectations. I would enjoy seeing your reactions, especially the bits that will make you blush.

2023-08-16 21:35:35 +0000 UTCI remember not liking Euro Trip half as much as it's predecessor Road Trip(2000) Also if you're gonna watch Austin Powers, you gotta finish it(re: all three movies)

2023-08-16 21:23:52 +0000 UTCSuperbad is fantastic, but also Eurotrip, Old School, and Super Troopers are incredible as well. Honestly this entire poll is a list of bangers.

2023-08-16 21:14:26 +0000 UTCSuper Troopers is derivative, tedious, and unendingly boring.

2023-08-16 21:09:49 +0000 UTCThey are all good but my favorite on this list is Super Troopers. And yes please watch Austin Powers.
