Give it back to that odious prick! ;) I like how they they showed that there was no furniture in Jesse's house and he's sleeping on the floor; and all he had was Jane's message to comfort him. When that is cut off, he has nothing, so goes back to what he does best, cooking meth. So sad.

She made it clear she wanted a divorce and nothing to do with him, Walter was delusional enough to think there was a chance to repair it... He somehow acknowledges his own actions, but he always thinks he doesn't have to pay for it. Walt wouldn't listen to anything else, it's 100% on him. I'm not for cheating, but this is the exception, she made the right decision, f Walt.

He's my favorite character lol Don't let anyone peer pressure you into disliking or liking certain people. Everyone's gonna feel differently about everyone. So far, yup, I don't get how anyone can say Skylar is this perfect lovable person. She's flawed just like everyone else. Anyway, I'm having fun with this so far. Breaking Bad is such a great show and I'm glad you're enjoying the ride!

2023-08-09 16:57:04 +0000 UTCI feel Skyler f*cking Ted was an attempt to accomplish a few things. First, to hurt Walt. Clearly. But more importantly, it was to try to get rid of Walt. That morning he gave her a huge speech about how he did horrible, terrible things, but he did it for his 'family'. Sure, he could've taken the job or even just the money from Elliot and Gretchen, but his pride required him to cook meth and murder people instead. You know, for family. He made it quite clear that he was doing all this for his family. So, Skyler did what she thought would break his sense of 'family, in the hopes that it would make Walt go away. Also, it was an attempt to feel some sense of control. Walt has given her the feeling that she has no control over anything, and f-ing Ted was something that she could control. Walt disappears for hours or days with no explanation or worse, a stupid lie like his fugue state and there's nothing she can do about it. He missed the birth of his daughter. She can't even keep him out of the house, giving her no control there either. Her son is upset about the living situation and blames her. There's nothing she can do about that either. She has no control. I think it's the same with her smoking. It's a horrible thing, but it is something that she has control over. Something she chooses. Skyler desperately needs something to hold on to. Something that's in her control.

2023-08-09 16:47:50 +0000 UTCSkyler didn't even try and sugar coat it and straight up said "I f*cked Ted", there was no "I slept with Ted", "I had sex with Ted" or even downplaying just saying she kissed him. She straight up went for the jugular to hurt Walt and did it purely out of hatred. I wish I was able to get more invested the first time around since I stopped watching when Jane died because this is wild.

In the end you described the show perfectly, they take a very human approach to each character and characters you love will make mistakes and characters you hate will do things that make sense, you can never predict were is the show going that one of the beautis of this show.

2023-08-09 13:27:51 +0000 UTCI know a lot of people won't like it but I'd still kinda defend Skyler here. The one thing I'll say is that her motivation for sleeping with Ted is definitely not great. It's obviously just out of spite for Walt, out of pettiness because she wants some way of hurting him and she feels impotent to do that in any other way. So yeah, that's obviously not "the high way" to go about it. If she was sincerely in love with Ted, it would be another thing, but that's clearly not what's happening. But concerning the technical infidelity, I think that's a very poor argument. If we're not puritanical about sex outside of marriage, I think most people could agree that the problem with cheating on someone is the breaking of trust, of an unspoken or spoken agreement that neither of you won't be intimate with another person because it would mean that maybe you don't love your partner anymore or not enough, or aren't attracted to them anymore. But that trust is already gone with Skyler and Walt, he broke the trust first, he was in a way the one that was unfaithful to her first, not romantically but I think to the same level of emotional betrayal. And now he's just barreling his way back into the family, completely disregarding the fact that she not only obviously doesn't want him anymore but is actually afraid of him at this point. By imposing himself on her and the family, he is indirectly threatening them. This was kind of her only way of feeling like she got some power back, some leverage. And yeah, the better way would probably have been to listen to her lawyer and just tell the police everything but I'm much more sympathetic with her reasoning of wanting to protect the family than with Walter's and I think she's much more sincere in that as well. Ironically, the one person I feel kinda bad for here is Ted xD he's not like an awesome dude but he seems kind of harmless and well-meaning over all and like he sincerely likes Skyler and he's just become like a pawn in their power play. Kinda messed up.

2023-08-09 05:34:44 +0000 UTCI agree with your thoughts on fighting for one’s marriage. There are lots of reasons to divorce, but it should only be a last option. Get counseling, talk, work through issues first. Divorces will still happen, but a lot of marriages will be saved too. I know several marriages that suffered affairs, and after a year of living apart and getting counseling, they got back together and have strong marriages since. No marriage is beyond saving until everything has been tried.

So what Hank did in the bar. - gets the notification to go to el paso because things are cooling down, all the deals are out of his jurisdiction, and they want to get more insight across the border to get a bead on things, but obviously he's scared to death and still recovering from the PTSD of going down there. - He chooses a shady bar to try to witness a deal. He's hoping to get his hands on some meth (ideally blue sky) to show to his ASAC that the trail hasn't gone cold. - he leaves his gun in the car because he's intending on provoking a fight, because he didn't actually witness anything so he has no legal basis to investigate/search them, and they can just tell him to fuck off. - if you start a fight while holding a gun, it turns into a gun fight. If the guy reaches for it, he can get killed, or hank will have to pull the gun and kill him, which turns it into a crime scene and gets bumped to APD and not the ATF - Hank leaves the gun in the car, walks up, makes sure one of the guys throws the first punch, and then he retaliates and once he wins the fight, has probable cause to cuff and search them, and he has visible damage to prove that he was responding to assault of a police officer. - Gomez meets up with Schrader in the bathroom and tips him off as to how he tweaked the story to make it look like Schrader didn't do anything wrong because even though he's suspicious of his intentions, and is starting to suspect Hank of not wanting to go to el paso, he at the same time doesn't want to throw his partner under the bus and jeopardize his career, so he pretends like they witnessed the handoff and pretends like he went to his car to call it in, which is why Hank got in the fight by himself So Hank lucked out and the guys WERE holding, so the bust achieved what he hoped, and Gomez corroborated the fake story so Hank basically has a story to pitch to his commanding officer as to why he needs to stay

Hank left his gun because he did not want anyone to grab it during the fight; the reason its a big deal is because it shows his intent to start a fight. He'd likely be in trouble if Gomey included that detail. Hank does not want to go back to El Paso, which is why he did this in the first place. And Skyler is definitely feeling the pressure. She has no control over her own life anymore; except when it comes to Ted..
