Breaking Bad (Season 2 Ep 13) | Full Length Reaction!

You mentioned about Donald's eyes in regard to Jane in the previous episode, and here we see how magnificent John De Lancie (as always) is, as he sees the light of his life leave him; and his eyes tell us everything, that his reason for being, is now gone and he's empty inside with grief. One detail that is often overlooked is the interview scene with Walt and the family, where we hear how much Walt Jr idolises his dad, and Walt breaks, as we know the person he is now becoming. Calling him his hero, after seeing him deliberately fail to stop someone from dying in the previous episode. It cuts to the bone, and would devastate the family knowing all the things he's done.

Pretty much the only reac I've seen where the reactor is still team Walt after season two.

This episode's theme is innocence and the color pink represents it. Holly's clothes are pink. Holly and Jane both had rolled up towels placed behind them while laying on their side. Jane wore pink lipstick. There is a pink teddy bear and a girl falling on the mural in Jane's room which represents the fall from innocence, Jane's death, the passengers falling from the planes and more specifically the child who played with the bear while relating it to Walt's family and Jesse's soft spot for children even. The teddy bear relates to Jesse's actions involving Jane too. You could say Jane was originally innocent when she first met Jesse judging strictly off her 18th month chip. In the beginning of 'Phoenix' there is a weathered pink teddy bear laying lifeless on the ground outside in that same episode Walt turns down his daughter's birth for instead a deal with Gus, trading and leaving behind the innocence of his newborn for supplying more substance and even destroying the innocence of people's lives like Jesse's, also Ted was there for her birth instead of Walt. Then Walt is watching a nature program about a mother elephant & her calf as Skyler sings a lullaby to Holly in her room. When Jane is on the phone with Walt she says: "do right by Jesse or I will burn you to the ground". I think of a phoenix rising from the ashes a part of Heisenberg representing the phoenix when he let Jane die something snapped, a new side of him was revealed, a darker evil arose because Jane was not an immediate threat to Walt & Jesse in that situation unlike previous times with others. In the very beginning of the season Walt said he needed $737k for his family while the sound of a plane flew over him and Jesse. The plane that crashed was a boeing 737. BB writers organically wrote the story as the show went along. Walt visiting the crack house made him aware of the impact he's making and what his actions are fueling. And the substance abuse is even linked to Jane's father Don crashing the planes. In a interview with Vince when asked about the significance of the two–faced bear's eyeball he said it represents the all–seeing eye of God. I believe this series is about self-deception, to which everyone has a propensity. The salmon–pink sweater confirms that Walt is directly correlated to it all in one way or another.

The pink bear is Walt in the pink sweater. His drug life has crashed into his family life and he’s falling out of the sky. I’m glad Jonathan Banks has showed up. He’s the guy that helped Jesse clean the place. He’s such a great character. Can’t wait to start season 3. Things really get cooking now!

Joe Blankenship

The characters are all so flawed but very realistic. Walt and Sky and their marriage issues, in terms of its slow breakdown and lack of communication and conflicting emotions leading to callousness and resentment - all too real in many marriages. Great react, V! Keep it going!

James M

Mr. Robot is really underappreciated.

Jaroslav Dočekal

Sweet summer child.

Jaroslav Dočekal

VIMEO works great if you want to look into another video player option, I follow James vs Cinema and its what he uses, had no trouble on my end with just the patreon player though keep up the good work been loving the content 😁

Matt

Loving your reactions to the series so far can't wait for more, I really hope you also watch "Better Call Saul" afterwards and if you want some more exceptional top tier shows on the same level as this imo, I really recommend "MR. ROBOT" and "SUCCESSION" both obviously very different and unique but 10/10 and I hope you can fall in love with them as much as I have.

Matt

S2 isn’t appreciated enough. The way it all comes together, how, Walt’s actions led to the plane crash.. perfect, imo

Cole Troutman

One thing about this show that sets it apart from all the other “great” ones is just how real it is. Some things are far fetched, but everything that happens in the show could happen in real life. And a lot of the things the characters go through are things some people go through every day

Cole Troutman

The characters and their stories might be fake, but the feelings they cause are very real. and effect you deeply. As you said, it's very well written. Being confused, and lost for words is an appropriate place to be at the end of this season. they really didn't give much in the way of closure with the whole plane crash since they teased it all season.

Jonah Bertorelli

The writers of this show have been masterful in putting this show together take a little time to credit the work they've done; perhaps we can move on them.

Steve H

Patreons video player should be fine going forward. You weren't far off in your original prediction of a plane back in S1:E2. Probably worth taking another look at those episode titles too..... Considering Aaron Paul wasn't supposed to last past season 1, he really showed just how good he his here and how big of a mistake that would have been. If this episode isn't a sign of how Walt's decisions have terrible consequences then I don't know what is. I think it is safe to say that he has now spread his cancer to everyone around him. Special mention to Jane's father's actor. I thought the typical response would have been for him to lash out at Jesse but he is almost indifferent to it. Reading his face I am not sure if he was just in pure shock or maybe he had been dreading this day for sometime. I won't say much about "The Cleaner" character just yet but I think you'll like him. His introduction was actually because they couldn't get Bob Odenkirk for the episode which turned out to be a good thing.

jeremykg14

Lol your intrusive thoughts is why we sub

Chris Franco

It's completely natural to get attached to characters in a TV series and get emotional, even if they are fictional. I have absolutely loved your reaction so far, and i can't wait for season 3.

Torm

sorry people have been leaking your stuff. that's super disrespectful. no skin off my back though. just prefer youtube user experience

Dale Diaz

I prefer the Youtube interface, but I'm fine with using the Patreon player. I've used it before, accidentally and didn't realize it til whatever was over.

Joe Blankenship

Such a great show. Can't wait for S3. Exciting times ahead

Jonathan Giles

I have nothing clever to say, just extremely well done as always, Vee, emotionally as well as intellectually.

Mike Minerals

As much as I agree with the Patreon video player not being up to par, I think that it does prevent sharing a lot more than you may be giving it credit for. It used to just be like password sharing. One person pays the sub fee, and then shares the link with the rest of the group. As long as you have the link, you're good to go. However, that same person would have to subscribe, get screen grabbing software, play the whole video while recording, render the video to prepare it for upload, upload the file, wait for it to process and then share the link with the group. Yes possible, but also very much more deterring due to it being more difficult.

Eric Tanaka

Just the thought that they wanted to kill off Jesse in Season 1... unimaginable. Aaron Paul brings so much depth to a character that could have been so one-note. Unbelievable.

Christophe Schannes

Aaron Paul is absolutely amazing in this episode. Well, he always is, but this episode, his grief is so moving. Your reaction to the cell phone answer "Which one?" was all I could've hoped for. I had the same reaction when I first saw that scene. This was just such an intense episode. Even Walt's reaction to the 'donations' coming in through his son's website was so real. Remember, the donations coming in are Saul's guy laundering Walt's money. But, you did get an introduction to Mike. A very engaging and amazing character.

TGrimace

Its a bummer the patreon video feature isn't great. I hope it improves so paying supporters can feel reliant about the quality, but the stuttering and the lack the settings really bites. Really sucks that people are taking advantage of yours and other reactors content. I hope they are at least reported for copyright. in my opinion, if these people are getting access to your links, it means they are patron supporters, and they can just screen record your videos uploaded directly to patreon and still go about there business taking your content. Getting rid of the YouTube links will solve nothing but make it inconvenient for everybody else sadly

LightsCameraJake

I know I was one of the ones that mentioned the YouTube copies and all that but I'm glad you're doing what you need to do to make sure your content makes you the money you deserve! I'm glad there's an alternative to help you cut down on unauthorized sharing

Eric Tanaka

Very sad. Look at the episode titles of episodes 1,4, 10 and 13 of this season. Those were also the episodes that had this particular opening. Tragic foreshadowing.

Christophe Schannes

Sad... trust people to be honest about their subscriptions and here they be sharing to others. Makes me look like Vee in this video's picture.
