A another good WW2 thing to watch would be “The Pacific” it’s a HBO miniseries like Band of Brothers and Chernobyl. And some other good war movies would be, “We Were Soliders”, “Defiance”(movie out in 2008 not the show), “Midway”, “Beneath Hill 60”, “12 Strong”, “Americsn Sniper”,

Similar to Hacksaw Ridge, this is a film adaptation of a real, though now gone, character (Jonathan Larson). The whole thing packaged in musical form, not as playful as La La Land, but progressing through a crucial stage of the character's life (upcoming 30th birthday) while perfectly incorporating new musical impulses at certain moments. Ah, and did I mention it's set in New York ;-) Not as light on its feet as the also good La La Land, but dramaturgically denser and with an excellent character drawing.

You should check out Come & See. It's foreign, but it's considered one of the best war films of all time. It's totally devastating though lol.

Vee, I want to very much request you watch "We were soldiers" it's based on a true story and best selling book. Staring Mel Gibson. His role in this film inspired him to direct this movie many years later and tell this story. This is one perhaps his best role in a film to this day. Everybody needs to see it at least once.

Every MOH recipient has an absolutely incredible breath taking story! Over 3,500 of them. Thank you for taking your time to learn about one of them. I know these movies are hard on you, so thank you V. Much love and respect.
