Shang Chi | Full Length Reaction

Hey everyone!! Continuing the Marvel Cinematic Universe... here is Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings!! This was a movie I had no idea I was going to love so much. Everything was done so beautifully and I ended up falling in love with everything from the action all the way to the story and aesthetic. I'm so glad I watched this movie because it has easily become one of my favorites in the MCU thus far!:) I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I did, have a wonderful rest of your day friends!!!

Marvel learned from Black Panther, when making a story that is hyper focused on a different culture than America, you bring in the big talent guns when it comes to story-boarding and directing and camerawork/style to reflect the cultural style. At the time this film hit, Hollywood was having a big 'Asian representation is important too' kind of a swing and the Chinese market on American films is really big too; so a part of production focus was to be respectful of that audience. Also, there was some cloudy ideas on where the MCU is going to go and how to set up for it, at this time. So we are getting new characters, new villains, old villains turning into new friends, new recruiters, new teams, new organizations and governments that want to have "Avengers" types of their own, and lots of film styles to explore too. Along with new gods, new powers, new energies, new species, even messing with time and dimensions now. It could literally go dozens of directions. Which is part of problem as you could see with Eternals. Too many options. Some options are too big and heavy and have very little for the audience to relate to, or connect with. Phase 4 had some rough patches trying to clean out the infinity stone mess and make room for the next big plot, or even with finding out which plot the audience will connect with. Shang-Chi was this little pocket of greatness that stands on its own. I want to know more about the rings since they are, technically, not in the comics. There are rings or gauntlets that you could draw similarities to or inspired from but these rings are an MCU creation. The original Ten Rings were finger rings and each ring had a very specific power like shooting fire or ice from your hands. I like this new weapon/tool and want to see where they go with. I mentioned in the Eternals post that some believe the rings might have come from them, maybe even Phastos himself when working on a previous planet turned Celestial, but the memory was erased as it always is after the job is done. Phastos did make rings that look similar in design to connect all the Eternals together after all. Maybe they will tell us, maybe they won't, its Marvel; took 20ish movies to find out what happen to Abomination after the Hulk film, lol.

Vee! Fun fact, the Bamboo scaffolding fight scene was directly inspired from Rush Hour 2s bamboo scene xD

The fight choreographers for this movie had been on Jackie Chan stunt team. You can see a lot of similarities and inspiration for the fights and stunts, and that is also why the fight scenes in this movie is top notch
