Added 2023-02-08 06:21:43 +0000 UTCHere’s the first Amazing Spider-Man film!! I was pleasantly surprised by Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man and actually expected a totally different performance from him, but he killed it with the sassy spidey energy and I really liked Emma Stone as Gwen!

2023-02-16 04:11:46 +0000 UTCThe problem with the TAS movies certainly was not Andrew. It was everything around him. To me that is what makes them so frustrating. They had a wonderful lead playing Peter and they botched the story and tone etc. so badly.

2023-02-13 23:29:10 +0000 UTCPersonally, Andrew is my favorite in the role. He nailed the actual intent of comics Peter better than anyone. I do stress "intent". Obviously a 1960s "loser" is not the same as a 2012 "loser", and I think people forget that sometimes. Tobey played, well, a 1960s "loser". Which even in 2002, didn't exactly fit the same mold it was originally meant to. Andrew played a 2012 "loser". People who thought he was "too cool to be Peter" had no idea what 2012 school life was like, a lot of them were stuck in this 1997-2003 mentality of "skateboard = automatically cool". But by 2012, a guy with emo hair, listening to emo music, and riding a dark skateboard? That was a loser. I should know, I was one. Andrew was the Peter I could relate to the way the character was meant to be related to. Also, fun fact, the parents plotline was in the comics. It's a bit different here, but in the comics Peter's parents were members of SHIELD. In fact, Wolverine is Peter's godfather, his parents knew Logan.
